Student & Family Update

I am thrilled to welcome everyone to a new school year at Colonel Richardson Middle School! My name is Mr. Jefferson, and I am honored to begin this journey as your new principal. I could not be more excited to see our students back in the building, filling our halls with energy, curiosity, and Cougar pride.

A little about me—my career in education began right here on the Colonel Campus. I started as a Special Education Teacher at Colonel Richardson High School, later serving as the Dean of Students at CRHS. From there, I moved into administration as an Assistant Principal at North Caroline High School. After three years, I was given the incredible opportunity to return home to the Colonel Campus—something I am truly grateful for. This community has given so much to me, and I am eager to give back by supporting our students, families, and staff.

At CRMS, we believe that success is a team effort. Together with our staff and families, we will continue to create an environment where every student can thrive both inside and outside of the classroom. This year, our theme is “Strength in Unity.” Our Cougar CommUnity is strongest when we work together, and I know that by supporting one another, we will accomplish amazing things.

Thank you for trusting us with your child’s education. I look forward to an outstanding school year filled with learning, growth, and success for all.
