What It Is: Interact is a service club for middle and high school students passionate about making a difference while learning about the world and themselves and having fun! The Interact club organizes at least two projects yearly: one that helps the school or community and another that promotes international understanding. Interact makes an impact in so many ways: on the student personally, on the community, and beyond. Club members get to shape their club. Students plan and do everything from service projects to leadership development and social activities, all tailored to the student members’ interests and the community’s needs. In doing so, students gain lifelong leadership skills and learn the value of service. Interact Club’s projects create real and lasting change. Students get to observe the results of the club’s service and understand the enormous impact that Rotary’s members and other volunteers make worldwide in becoming global citizens. When a student joins the Interact club, the student becomes part of a worldwide community that is part of Rotary International. Who It's For: 6th-12th

What It Is: Students will explore mathematical concepts through the art of crochet. In this virtual club, students will learn foundational crochet techniques while applying skills such as counting, pattern recognition, sequencing, measurement, and geometric design.

Students will complete structured projects including round coasters (circular geometry), bookmarks (linear measurement and rectangular design), and a guided character or animal project (introducing three-dimensional structure and multi-step pattern construction). Each project requires students to follow crochet patterns as mathematical algorithms, analyze repeating sequences, and adjust stitch counts to achieve specific sizes and shapes. Students will also learn how to plan future projects by creating swatches to measure gauge. They will use measurement and proportional reasoning to determine how stitch size affects overall project dimensions and how to adjust patterns to achieve a desired size. In addition, students will explore different types of yarn and crochet hook sizes, analyzing how material properties and tool size impact stitch size, tension, and overall project outcomes. This club promotes problem solving, perseverance, and precision while helping students see real-world applications of mathematics in a creative and engaging way.

Who It's For: 6th-12th

What It Is: This virtual class will be a fun and engaging exploration of tabletop role-playing, using a simplified system of classic games like Dungeons and Dragons. We will be focusing on character creation, collaborative storytelling, and strategic gameplay within a fantasy world. Students will read and understand an intricate set of rules for creating characters, strategic gameplay, collaborative story-telling, and social interaction. Students will work together to overcome challenges, build a shared narrative, think critically and strategically, roll dice, and maybe even slay a dragon!
