MTSS Lead Weekly Updates
Week of May 4, 2026
Hooray for Teachers 🎉
Thank you for ALL that you do as an educator for our students! The RTI2A Team appreciates the hard work and dedication we see to reach our struggling learners. Continue to invest energy and finish strong!
Spring Universal Screener
The Spring Screening Window is open April 28-May 13.
iReady Reading Diagnostic
iReady Math Diagnostic
Grade appropriate Spring Literacy Tasks (refer to Minimum Matrix iReady Suite (K-3 or 4-8)
Spring Written Expression (on paper)
Screening for characteristics of dyslexia as outlined (Decision Making Crosswalk)
iReady Red and Yellow Rush Flags
There are a large number of red and yellow rush flags. Please reset any student with a red rush flag. It is recommended that you review and consider reset for yellow rush flags. If you need assistance, please email student name, id number, and content to be reset.
Remember to follow the administration guidelines when administering the assessment. This is about seeing the efforts of your instruction for the 25-26SY rather than checking off the box to say you are completed with the spring screening. Rush flags tend to hinder growth reporting.
TNPulse
Student Plans Technical Update
Several concerns have been flagged in TNPulse regarding not seeing the "finalize student plan" button at the bottom of the screen. Please ensure that there is a statement regarding what is being done in intervention. Sheila reviewed this in August and September TNPulse Back to School sessions and it was explained in MTSS Lead Updates.
As a reminder, statements do not have to be super long, but should be long enough so the reader knows what instruction is being received.
Possible examples, not limited to these:
- Small group-Student is receiving oral reading fluency practice passages from iReady using progress monitoring passages to increase time and accuracy.
- Computer-Student is using the iReady Personalized Instruction MyPath
Reading Horizons PLCs
There are two offerings to participate in Reading Horizons PLCs this week at Germantown Elementary School. We are grateful to Principal Johnson and her staff for hosting these sessions. We plan to continue offerings next school year as these have been popular. There are a few seats remaining for our final offerings this year. If you wish to attend this week, we will focus on using data from the program to adjust instruction and support. Please sign up using the link below by 3:00 p.m. today, 5/4/26.
