How do hormones get messed up? How do hormones get messed up?

  1. Stress Overload 😫

    • When you’re stressed, your body pumps out cortisol (stress hormone).

    • Too much cortisol steals resources from other hormones (like progesterone), leading to imbalances.

  2. Poor Sleep 😴

    • Your body regulates growth hormone, melatonin, and even hunger hormones (ghrelin/leptin) during deep sleep.

    • Not enough rest = your body can’t reset properly.

  3. Blood Sugar Swings 🍩

    • Eating lots of sugar or refined carbs spikes insulin.

    • Constant spikes and crashes make your body resistant to insulin and can disrupt estrogen, testosterone, and cortisol.

  4. Toxins & Chemicals 🧴

    • Plastics, pesticides, and additives can act like fake estrogens (“endocrine disruptors”).

    • This throws off your natural hormone signals.

  5. Gut Issues 🦠

    • Your gut helps metabolize and clear out used hormones (especially estrogen).

    • If your gut is sluggish or inflamed, hormones can “recycle” back into your system and cause imbalance.

  6. Nutrient Gaps 🥦

    • Hormones are built from fats, proteins, vitamins, and minerals.

    • Poor diet = not enough building blocks for healthy hormone production.

👉 In short: stress, sleep, sugar, toxins, gut health, and nutrition are the biggest culprits.

Steps we can take to fix them. Steps we can take to fix them.

  1. Balance Your Blood Sugar 🍳🥑

    • Eat protein + healthy fat with each meal (ex: eggs + avocado, chicken + veggies).

    • This keeps insulin steady, which keeps estrogen, cortisol, and thyroid happy.

  2. Prioritize Rest & Stress Reset 😴🧘‍♀️

    • Aim for 7–9 hours of quality sleep.

    • Add a daily stress reset (deep breathing, prayer, a walk, journaling).

    • This calms cortisol and gives other hormones a chance to rebalance.

  3. Support Detox & Gut Health 🥦💧

    • Eat fiber-rich foods (greens, berries, flax, beans) to help clear out old hormones.

    • Drink plenty of water.

    • Reduce chemical exposure (swap plastic bottles, choose cleaner products when you can).

  4. Supplement to correct deficiencies and support healing. 🥰💪

👉 Start with these 4 and you’ll often see energy, mood, sleep, and cycles improve quickly.
