“Empowering Students of the World, for the World”
March 7, 2025
School Hours 7:40 AM to 2:10 PM. (Wed 1:10 PM dismissal)
Remember you always have a choice, so CHOOSE KINDNESS!
A Note from the Office:
Kindergarten Registration is open until March, 24th. If your child is currently enrolled in the Portland Public Schools in one of our pre-kindergarten (4-year-old) classrooms, it is not necessary for you to re-enroll your child in kindergarten. Your child's enrollment will automatically "roll up" to your neighborhood kindergarten elementary school, according to your primary home address. Visit our Kindergarten Registration page for more information.
Ms. Girsch reports that, March School Counseling lessons will focus on solving problems. What kinds of problems do we encounter everyday? What’s the best way to approach a problem? What are the four steps to solving a problem? What are the most effective ways to solve a problem? What happens if we don’t work on solving problems? We'll also talk about some hot tips to solving problems, like never try to solve a problem while you're angry. Take a few minutes to calm down so you can engage in the process!
We have a Community Dinner scheduled for March 17th (5:30-6:15 PM) in the cafe. Jennifer Montague, Portland Schools' Food Service Director, will be here looking for interested families who would like to be on the Parent Advisory Committee.

The Portland Museum of Art (PMA), in collaboration with the Maine Art Education Association (MAEA), proudly presents the 2025 Youth Art Month exhibition, celebrating the creativity of young artists and the educators who inspire them. This annual exhibition highlights the importance of arts education and its impact on student expression and growth.
EECS PTO
We hope you are healthy and doing well. We have a few things to let you know.
Please visit our PTO website HERE to get a feel for what we do and what we hope to do this year. We are a group of parents working to support the kids and staff at EECS in every way we can. We did a lot of great stuff last year, and we'd like to do it again this year. We need a lot of help with this!
You can you make RECURRING DONATIONS to our PTO? (Please click HERE). This helps us do more - we have big plans to send these kids on field trips, fund swim lessons, and have even more community and cultural events! Help us make them happen!
Meet the Board Members HERE.
