PTA Update from the Eagle's Nest
PTA Newsletter: Week of October 27, 2025
A word from the PTA Board
Upcoming Highlights
October 31st Halloween
On Friday, we will have a half-day of school packed with Halloween fun! Students are allowed to wear costumes to school that comply with school guidelines. Students will participate in a school-wide sing, followed by class parties, and then a parade. Grade Connectors will send out emails to your grade about opportunities to support the parties. If you missed out on volunteering, there will be many more opportunities coming up.
- Parade: The Parade starts at 11 am, and all are welcome to watch our favorite Rumi, Pokemon, Steve, Wednesday, Elphaba, and other characters parade around our school. Visitors are asked to park in the main lot (not the bus loop) or adjacent neighborhoods, then proceed to the back of the school. Students will be visible all around the playground area.
Conferences November 12 & 13
Very soon, there will be emails from the school about signing up for teacher conferences. These are great opportunities to discuss how your student is doing in the classroom, interacting with others, and find out ways to support their learning.
- Book Fair: Throughout Conference week, the Scholastic Book Fair will be available for families who wish to make a purchase. For new families, the Book Fair comes to school three times each year. This is a great time to support student learning or pick up a book for a holiday gift. We will share more Book Fair info as we get closer. In the meantime, please consider volunteering for an hour at the sale. If you have an hour to spare, it is a fun and easy volunteer opportunity (All are welcome, parents, grandparents, caregivers, if you love smiles, the book fair is for you!)
- Conference Meals: Help us nourish our teachers and staff during the long Conference days. This fall, our themes are Soup & Salad and Past Party. If you have a delicious fall dish that you've been eager to share, our Bingham Farms staff would appreciate it! A warm treat and some caffeine go a long way in supporting them as they meet with each family.
Birmingham School Open House Events
In Birmingham Public Schools we have a lot of great options as our students move up grades. In the coming months we encourage you to take your students to Open House events to help inspire them for where they are headed next following their time in Bingham Farms. These Open Houses are free to the public and it is also fun to think, in just 1, 3, 8 years I'll be there on stage, in the pool, or testing that experiment. All Birmingham Schools have a unified curriculum, so it is a great idea to visit schools that you are interested in to see which culture and offerings are a good fit for your student.
*If you miss an Open House and are still interested in touring the school, please reach out to their office.

Repeated Info (everything below)
PTA Membership Directory
We invite all our families to participate in our Membership Directory. Within the PTA Membership Toolkit there is a school-wide Directory. This is the best spot to look for contact info for meet-ups, party invitations, and the name and number for "Luke's Mom".
Seriously, the other day he came home with, "Mom I need a play date with ___, I have his number written down..." it was five numbers, nothing else. 🤦🏻♀️(Cue Membership Directory)
Social Media
Stay in touch with friends and share your back-to-school highlights on your grade's Facebook pages. These are meant to be social spaces that spread positivity throughout our classes.

Shop to Support the PTA
Kroger Community Rewards
Help our school while you shop. Under your Kroger Plus Card Account > Rewards > Community Rewards, you can select an organization that a portion of your sale goes to support! Choose AC809 for Bingham Farms Elementary and our PTA gets a check with no extra steps after you sign-up.
Box Tops for Education
A great way to support the school is through Box Top$ for Education. Long gone are the days of clipping the barcodes of cereal boxes or soup labels. Download the app, select Bingham Farms Elementary, and each time you shop at the grocery scan your receipt. It will auto calculate the donation and send it to our school! It is easy, and you don't need to know which food or supplies qualify for credit - the app checks for you. Now download that app while you wait for the bus, or in the pick-up gathering zone. Thanks for supporting our school, and be sure to share with friends and family too!
