Message From Jenny Title VI Coordinator

Happy Native American Heritage Month!

Happy Native American Heritage Month! This is a special time of year when we can embrace our rich cultures, celebrate our traditions, and honor and remember our ancestors. It is also a wonderful opportunity to connect with our elders, listen to their stories, learn from their experiences, and spend meaningful time together. If you have students at home, encourage them to reach out to an elder and ask if they could use a helping hand with yard work or other tasks around their living space. Sometimes, the smallest acts of kindness can mean so much!

During this time of year, Jen and I also see an increased need for support in classrooms as teachers and students explore and learn about Native American Heritage Month. If you feel your student's school or classroom could use additional support with curriculum, teachings, or activities surrounding this month, please don't hesitate to reach out to Jen. She would be happy to help support teachers and students in creating meaningful learning experiences.

Upcoming Culture Night – November 19th!

We have some fun activities planned for our upcoming Culture Night! Our hope is to create a welcoming space where we can simply come together, enjoy each other's company, share food, participate in crafts, and spend time in community.

I will be making frybread, and our administration team will provide all the toppings! If you would like to bring a dish to share, please let me know. We would love to have you contribute!

We are looking forward to a fun evening filled with connection, laughter, food, and community. Most importantly, we want everyone to feel welcome and enjoy being together.
