We are excited to begin a new tradition at GHS; Student of the Month. Every month, teachers from each department will select students to honor with this recognition. This year, we are placing an emphasis on the character traits:

• Focus
• Perseverance
• Attitude
• Kindness
• Belief

These character traits are a focal point of the video (linked below) that both students and staff watched at the beginning of the school year. You may recognize it from the Tide Times Family Newsletter as well.

The students of the month are proudly displayed in our commons area. Please join us in congratulating our November students of the month.

Avery consistently goes above and beyond as our CTE intern. He arrives each day ready to work, jumps into tasks without hesitation, and tackles every responsibility—big or small—with a positive attitude. Whether he’s assisting in the classroom or running back and forth between buildings, Avery’s reliability, work ethic, and enthusiasm make him an outstanding role model for our CTE program.

Aaliyah Robinson comes to class daily with a positive attitude. She always responds to my greetings, participates in class activities and discussions with enthusiasm, and meets every assignment with a spirit of positivity. Her smiling face is always a welcomed sight.

Vivian is a student that is very dedicated to achieving at a high level in every activity that she participates in. She does an outstanding job of balancing her busy schedule of performing in numerous music ensembles such as concert band, jazz band, marching band, basketball band, and orchestra with all of the other activities she does such as cross country, swim, MACC and her SWVGS work. She continually sets a high standard for excellence while maintaining a joyful attitude that cultivates an atmosphere of fun and continual progress, both in and outside of the classroom.

AJ always comes to class prepared to participate and performs in every activity to the best of her ability. She is well-mannered, gets along with all of her classmates, and leaves class with a smile on her face each day!

Aiden is one of the most dedicated students, and is highly effective at being a great manager of time. He completes all of his assignments on time and at a high level in a large class that has many opportunities to become distracted. Aiden focuses on not only getting his work completed, but he also makes time to be an extension of the teacher, helping others frequently. He is an engaged and attentive learner that provides many answers in guided learning opportunities and class discussion. He has one of the highest averages and test scores, which is a testament to his focus and dedication to the classroom.

Easton believes in himself and his classmates. He regularly encourages his classmates to do their best and is able to coach them when they need a hand. He asks for clarification and rarely gets frustrated when he makes mistakes. Instead, he takes care to avoid that mistake in the future.

Michael is a kind, helpful and extremely hard working student. He consistently goes above and beyond to produce the best product for every assignment. He is always willing to help other students in my Earth Science Honors class. Michael knows the school rules and follows them without exception.

Caleb has had a difficult semester, but he has not given up. Through his perseverance and hard work, he has continued to move forward even through all of the difficulties that have stood in his way.
