Thanks to all that participated in the 2024 “A Day in Paris” Swim A Thon. 425 swimmers attended on Saturday, and 212 of those swimmers have already logged donations on the team unify website! It was a fun day for swimmers, parents, grandparents, families and volunteers to come together and take photos, eat snacks and most importantly swim laps to support NOVA’s largest fundraiser.
All NOVA families have a fundraising obligation, so if you have not done your fundraising yet this year, this is the most convenient way to meet that obligation!
If you were unable to attend, there is time this week and next to make up your laps during practice and receive a limited edition NOVA Swim a Thon t shirt. Please have your swimmer communicate with their coach about making up the SAT this week.
Over $47,000 has already been raised which is about 42% of our goal of $115,000. With 600 plus swimmers left to donate I know, as a team, we will crush this lofty goal! Please log all pledges into the team unify site, and turn in any cash/checks to the business office by May 15th. NOVA will publish the Top Ten individual swimmers and the top 12 & Under and 13 & Over Groups, who will all receive a prize. Look for results the week of May 20th!
At NOVA, we have the hardest working coaches whose dedication and talent make NOVA great and help NOVA swimmers excel at all levels. While we hope that swimmers and their families recognize this and thank their coaches on a regular basis, we are asking you to join us in honoring the NOVA coaches during Coaches Appreciation Week May 6th-10th.
This is a time for swimmers and families to celebrate NOVA’s exceptional coaches and their contributions to our team. A note expressing your thanks, a small token or gift card to your coaches’ favorite restaurant or shop, or simply an enthusiastic “Thanks Coach!” are just a few examples of how you can let your coaches know how much you appreciate them!
For a list of your coaches’ likes/preferences, see your Group Parent Representative.
The SwimNOVA Lessons Office is hiring swim instructors to teach in the afternoons and evenings Mondays-Thursdays for the Summer June 3-July 25.
Interested candidates should review the 2024 Summer Lessons Tab on the website and reach out to coachleslie@novaswim.org.
13 and over PPOW
Our 13 and over PPOW is Melody Qian from SDB. Melody went above and beyond at practice this week, stepping up and leading her lane with a positive attitude. She also made sure she did her drills perfectly! Way to go Melody!
12 and under PPOW
Our 12 and Under PPOW is Ella Palumbo from AGDG. Ella has been working hard leading her lane often and has moved to a faster interval for training.
Keep up the great work Ella!
