Strong Relations as a Community Strong Relations as a Community

Big Week means Big Community Spirit, and Trustees Amy Ish, Belia Garcia and Art Galimba showed up sporting their finest Western-style hats.

Board of Trustees President Art Galimba (above, center, with Loma Vista Principal Susana Vargas and Salinas City Virtual Academy Principal Erica Tumminelli) paid a visit to the safe-and-sane fireworks both run by parents and staff of both schools. Funds raised through the sales will pay for student-centered activities, including field trips.

Board of Trustees Vice President and Area 5 Trustee Jessica Powell toured Summer STEAM Activities taking place at Los Padres and Monterey Park schools. Here she observes an art and science lesson on craters, in which students used flower, cocoa and their imaginations to design a moonscape.

Area 4 Trustee Amy Ish dropped a selfie during her visit to a performance of the Banana Slug String Band during Summer STEAM Camp at Monterey Park School.
