Our new welcome sign, crafted by students during early release day
Dear Families,
It was such fun to attend the K/1 back-to-school night last evening with so many of you. The first graders moved about the space with great confidence and ease. The Kindergarteners have settled in so quickly and were so excited to share their day and space with their parents. It seems as though they are already old hands at this school thing. Thanks to Kera for organizing such a warm and welcoming evening.
The results are in from the 2/3 survey! The 2nd-3rd grade class thanks all those who answered our survey questions at the Potluck Supper. Here are some of our findings:
More people like cold than hot.
Most people like pizza.
In all 30 people liked reptiles and amphibians.
The most popular fast food is French fries.
People like foxes more than wolves.
Mario is the most popular video game franchise.
Cobras are the most popular snakes.
Most people like both tropical places and farms.
Most people like to read.
More people like dogs than cats.
More people like cats than fish or donkeys.
Rain gear: The rain has been so welcome and fun! Please help to make sure your children have full rain gear at school -
rainboots,
rain jacket,
rain pants, and a
rain hat.
While we have some extras at school, it’s much more efficient and fair if they bring their own and do not rely on our supply. Please also be sure they always have at least one full set of extra clothing in their backpacks. Thank you! VTCAP results - Spring 2025 - for grades 4&5: I will be putting these in the mail for you or handing them to you at drop-off next Monday. If you have any questions about them, please give me a call.
Lunch help: We need a volunteer for Wednesday next week! If you would like to volunteer please sign up on this calendar. The next several weeks are filling up, but there are still days not covered. If you can look ahead and sign up through October it would be greatly appreciated.
Please email me cjohnston@acsdvt.org or call if you have any questions (802-545-3301).
Enjoy the weekend and the slightly less thirsty earth. Christina

COMMUNITY DISCUSSION: ACSD School Residence Policy
You are warmly invited and encouraged to join members of the Addison Central School District Board Policy Committee for two upcoming conversations about how we will design a district-wide survey on our School Residence policy (C30). We want to hear your ideas about the kinds of questions the survey should include, so that it reflects the issues and experiences that matter most to families. these meetings are opportunities to provide informal feedback about what kinds of survey questions we should ask to get at the issues that matter most. Our goal is to gather experiences and ideas collaboratively so that the survey is clear, relevant, and useful. The meetings are open to anyone in the district.
