Friendship Dance Dress Code Guidelines:

The Friendship Dance is a Semi-formal event. Please help your student keep the following dress code guidelines in mind while preparing for the dance.

  • Semi-formal means no hats or t-shirts may be worn.
  • No jeans of any color may be worn.
  • We understand that some dresses may be strapless or spaghetti-strapped; this is fine but please keep in mind this is a school activity and we want everyone to dress appropriately. Be mindful of low cut dresses in the back or the front.
  • Dress slacks (pants must be worn in an appropriate manner), collared dress shirt or sweater, necktie (traditional or bow), dress shoes or boots are encouraged. A suit or sport coat is neither required nor encouraged.

Please keep these requirements in mind when dressing for the activity. We hope everyone has a fun/safe evening. Thank you for your help!

Xello! A new guidance resource platform. Xello! A new guidance resource platform.

Dear 11th grade families,

We’re excited to share that your student is using Xello, an engaging online program that helps students build essential skills for future success—both in school and beyond. On Monday, October 6th, all 11th graders participated in their initial career personality assessment called "Matchmaker" in Xello. Additionally, they completed the “Personality Styles” & “Mission Complete” assessments.

Through Xello, students explore career options, learn about post-secondary pathways, and set personal and academic goals. They complete interactive lessons, interest and skills assessments, and build a personalized portfolio that grows with them throughout their school years.

This program is designed to help students better understand themselves and make informed decisions about their future education and career plans. It supports conversations around their interests, strengths, and goals—both in and out of the classroom.

We encourage you to ask your student(s) about what they’re discovering in Xello. You can also explore the platform together at home.

Thank you for your continued support in helping our students dream big and plan smart!

*Parents, you should be receiving an email from Xello inviting you to create an account that will be linked to your KHS student.

Students that were present and logged into Xello used these steps:

  1. Go to this website- https://www.xello.world/en/

  2. Click Sign In

  3. Username: KIRKWOOD-student #

  4. Password: Date of Birth e.g. MMDDYYYY

  5. If prompted, change your password

The results to the "Matchmaker" assessment can be found under the “About Me” category, which is at the the top of the Xello Dashboard.
