Principal's Message
Ride Families,
WOW! What a wonderful first full week of school! I’m pretty sure our Challengers are feeling a little tired after such an exciting week, but we couldn’t be more proud of them!
Our students have done a tremendous job jumping right into their daily routines and expectations, learning new procedures, making new friends, and embracing all that comes with a new school year. We have loved seeing their smiles, excitement, and confidence grow throughout the week!
To our Ride families—THANK YOU! Your patience, encouragement, flexibility, and support mean more than you know. We know the beginning of a school year can come with new schedules, early mornings, forgotten water bottles, lots of questions, and maybe even a few extra “Where is my…?” moments!
We truly appreciate you partnering with us as we help our Challengers find their rhythm, settle into their routines, and feel right at home. We couldn’t do it without you!
And to our amazing teachers and staff—thank you! You have poured your hearts into our students from day one. Your dedication, energy, patience, and love are what make Ride such a special place. We are incredibly lucky to have such an amazing team caring for and inspiring our Challengers each day!
Next week, our students will begin MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing in reading, math, science, and fluency.
MAP is an adaptive assessment that helps us understand where each child is on their individual learning journey. The results provide our teachers with valuable information to:
- Personalize instruction
- Set meaningful goals with students
- Identify areas of strength and opportunities for growth
- Measure student progress over time
Once testing is complete, teachers will share results with you so that, together, we can celebrate your child’s progress and provide support in areas where they may need additional practice.
As we head into the weekend, I hope you take a moment to celebrate your Challenger and all they accomplished this week! The first week is a BIG deal, and our students have worked hard.
We are off to a wonderful start, and I am so excited to see where this year takes us. Here’s to a year filled with learning, laughter, growth, friendship, and lots of wonderful memories!
Thank you for making Ride such a special place for our students and staff. We are truly grateful for each of you and the partnership we share.
Have a wonderful and well-deserved weekend,
Laura Collins
We are so proud of our Challengers!
Parent Information Night
Watch D.O.G.S. Pizza Party
Fathers and Father-figures,
On September 15, from 5:30-6:30pm, we will have our 3rd annual Watch D.O.G.S. Kick-Off Informational Meeting and Pizza Party. Starting at 5:30 pm, we will have a presentation about our Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) Program in the gym. You may enter the school from the front doors or back gym doors.
Watch D.O.G.S. is an innovative program being used by schools across America. It helps them to be positively impacted by the committed involvement of fathers and father figures in their student's life. We aim to have you spend a day, half day, or a few hours this year at Ride in a positive male role model and provide an extra set of eyes and ears.
Dads, grandads, uncles, step-dads, and adult brothers... this is your chance to serve the students and staff at Ride Elementary.
To participate, click the link below to RSVP or scan the picture in the informational flyer.
Thank you,
Bree Jones

Birthday Treats
To help us keep everyone safe and ensure celebrations run smoothly, please remember that any birthday treats brought to school must follow our treat guidelines. Treats should be commercially prepared, nut-free, and clearly labeled with ingredients.
**Please note that we can not accept birthday treats from Shipley’s Donuts, as their corporate office has informed us that their products contain nuts.**
Treats that do not meet these guidelines will not be permitted in the classroom. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us celebrate safely!

Breakfast & Lunch
Parents are encouraged to prepay for their child’s meals through myschoolbucks.com. Please allow up to 48 hours for payments to be applied to your child’s account.
Breakfast is served daily from 7:30–7:55 a.m. Breakfast costs $2.00, and a regular student lunch is $3.20. À la carte items are also available for purchase at varying prices.
For menus, nutrition information, and additional details, please visit the CISD Child Nutrition website.
If sending cash or a check to school, please place it in a sealed envelope labeled with your child’s name, ID number, and grade level to ensure the payment is applied correctly. Checks should be made payable to CISD Child Nutrition and include the parent’s driver’s license number and date of birth. Free and Reduced-Price Meals
Families interested in applying for free or reduced-price meals may complete an application through myschoolapps.com. Students who do not qualify for the free or reduced-price meal program will need funds in their account or payment at the time of purchase for breakfast and lunch.
Lunch Visitors
We have found that the first few weeks of school are an important time for students to build independence, learn routines, and become comfortable in their new environment. To support this transition, we kindly ask that parents and guardians wait until August 24 before joining their child for lunch.
Due to limited seating in our cafeteria, all lunch visitors will be required to sign up in advance. We will share additional information, including the lunch visitor sign-up process, in the coming weeks.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we help our Challengers get off to a great start this school year!
School Hours
School hours are 7:55 a.m. - 3:10 p.m. Students must be in their classroom before the 7:55 a.m. bell rings, or they will be considered tardy. Please note that 7:30 a.m. is the earliest time that your child may be dropped off. We do not have staff available to supervise students until that time.
Tardy Policy - A student is tardy if not in the classroom at 7:55 a.m. If your child is tardy, parents must sign him/her in at the front office. When a student is tardy, an e-mail will be sent to the student’s guardian for notification.
Parent Portal
Conroe ISD offers a Parent Portal that gives parents and guardians easy access to important information about their child. All parents/guardians will need to create an account to get started. Please use the email address currently listed in your child’s school records. After entering your email, you’ll be prompted to create a password.
For step-by-step instructions, click Parent Portal Directions or go to Conroe ISD Webpage then "Parents/Students" to access the link
ELECTRONIC DEVICE POLICY
Students may not use personal communication and electronic devices during the school day in accordance with Texas House Bill 1481.
This includes (but is not limited to) phones, smartwatches, tablets, and wired/wireless headphones such as AirPods.
