SUMMER SCHOOL INFORMATION

What is the difference between Credit Recovery and Summer School?

  • Credit Recovery (Free): Credit Recovery Program for students who earned between 60-64% in the core subject areas and required electives from this school year. Students can take an unlimited amount of courses with this option. The length of the makeup work will vary depending on the student. Students are expected to be in class every day, Monday through Thursday, from June 16th until July 18th, until either the end of the term or until all work is completed and passing.

  • Summer School ($170 Per Course): Summer School for students who earned between 0-59% in current courses, failed courses from previous years, or students who need to earn additional elective credits. Students may take up to 2.0 credits in Summer School. The district offers summer school through online programming using courses through Edgenuity. Mr. Baker, the Program Coordinator will monitor all student work and pacing of assignment completion.

When will I know if my student needs Credit Recovery or Summer School?

In early June parents will receive a letter via email and in the mail letting them know if their student needs credit recovery or summer school. Credit Recovery and/or Summer School registration must be completed and paid no later than June 11, 2025.

NURSES CORNER NURSES CORNER

First off congratulations to the class of 2025 you have made it. Good luck on your future endeavors.

If your student is sick please keep them home. Please remind your student to be carrying a water bottle with them at all times so that they can stay hydrated and healthy. This is a good time to remind everyone to be washing their hands frequently.

Reminder students can not carry any medications with them in school. This includes cough drops and over the counter medications like Tylenol, Ibuprofen, vitamins, or supplements. If your student needs to have medication or needs a cough drop, Tylenol or Ibuprofen, they can visit the health room for these medications. Students are not allowed to bring in prescription medication to the health office, according to school policy all medication must be brought in by a parent/guardian in the original container with the students name, date of birth, name of medication, and instructions for giving the medication and the parent or guardian will need to sign the medication in with the health office.

The health room does not have any allergy/cold medicine. If your child needs allergy/cold medicine please be sure that they are taking it prior to coming to school and that it will last for 8 hours to get the student through the day.

Any current 10th graders will be required by state to have a physical to enter 11th grade. Please be sure to get your current 10th grade student scheduled for the yearly physical and turn in the physical form and updated immunization record once the student has received their yearly physical.

Any current 11th graders are required by the state to have a 2nd MCV immunization to start 12th grade. If your current 11th grade student has received this immunization and has not already turned in an immunization record showing this immunization has already been given please turn the record into the health office as soon as possible. If your student has not received this immunization please contact your student's physician and schedule an appointment to get this immunization so that your student will not be excluded from school.

As the school year is starting to wind down please remind your students to be sure to eat breakfast, get plenty of rest and bring a water bottle to school with them so that they are prepared for the testing that happens at the end of the school year.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy summer.

Local Baker Visits LHS Culinary Classroom: Monique Washirapunya, the owner of Gateau Monique- the bakery here in Littlestown, visited Mrs. Dull's classes on Wednesday April 30. Students made individual cakes, with a recipe provided by Monique, the day before. They also made ganache which was used after the demonstration. Monique demonstrated how to whip up the ganache into a nice texture for piping. She demonstrated how to fill the piping bags, seal and use them in order to create simple designs on cakes. After Monique's demonstration, students gathered in groups to whip up the ganache and homemade whipped cream, and pipe their own designs on their cakes. They finished decorating using assorted berries and fresh mint from Monique's garden.

FBLA STATE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE FBLA STATE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

FBLA Members Experience Success at State Leadership Conference

From April 6–8, twenty-three Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) members traveled to Hershey to participate in the annual Pennsylvania FBLA State Leadership Conference (SLC). The year’s conference attended by 6,200 members and advisers was the largest conference in our state’s history. Representing our school with pride and professionalism, our students joined thousands from across the state to compete, network, and grow as future leaders. The event was packed with competitive events, inspiring workshop speakers, and countless opportunities to connect with peers and professionals—making it a truly unforgettable and successful experience.

Littlestown students showcased their knowledge and skills across a wide range of subjects—from Financial Math to Business Ethics and many more. Their hard work and preparation paid off, as several students earned top awards including one national qualifier. Our small chapter packed a big punch earning several top 10 awards against 290 other chapters from across the state.

One of the most notable accomplishments was Jon Lehigh’s election as the 2025–2026 PA FBLA State Treasurer. Previously serving as one of the state Vice Presidents at Large, Jon’s continued leadership is a point of pride for our school and chapter.

In addition to the competitive events, students also had the opportunity to grow professionally by attending various workshops and performance events held at the Hershey Lodge and Hershey Hotel. These sessions allowed students to expand their understanding of the business world, develop leadership skills, and engage with fellow FBLA members from across Pennsylvania.

Overall, the State Leadership Conference was a powerful experience that highlighted the dedication, talent, and potential of Littlestown’s FBLA members. As they returned home with new knowledge, friendships, and achievements, these students continue to embody the spirit of Future Business Leaders of America—preparing today for success tomorrow.

Did you know that BREAKFAST is FREE for every student in our school district? However, in order to be FREE, students must make sure they are getting a fruit or fruit juice along with their entree item. Is your student unsure about how it works? Send them to the Counseling Office and we will walk them through it OR our awesome Cafeteria Staff can help too.

Does your student qualify for FREE & REDUCED LUNCH? Parents need to re-apply each school year as government guidelines do change yearly. Re-apply within the SchoolCafe app or website.

Stay on top of your student's SchoolCafe account. Do they need more money added or are they in the negative? You can add money via schoolcafe or send a check made out to Littlestown High School with your students name/account number.

Registration is a way our government keeps a list of names of men from which to draw in case of a national emergency requiring rapid expansion of our Armed Forces. By registering all young men, Selective Service ensures that a future draft will be fair and equitable.

You can register beginning when you turn 17 years and 3 months old, but you must register by your 18th birthday to avoid the possibility of any fines/penalties.
