MIFarmLink May Newsletter

Your Monthly Michigan Farm Link Update
May
May is the heart of the growing season. Longer days, warmer soil, and that familiar mix of hustle and hope. Whether you're planting your very first field or managing a farm that's been in the family for generations, this month is all about momentum.
It’s a time to lean into the work, trust the process, and stay rooted in community. At MIFarmLink, we’re proud to be part of your journey, helping connect farmers, land, and opportunity.
Here’s to fresh growth, steady progress, and all the promise this season holds. 🌱
Sincerely,
Jill Dohner

MIFarmLink Farm Listings
Each month we highlight a farm that’s available to lease or purchase.
E³ Farms
160 acres available in Mecosta County
Vision for the Farm
E³ Farms is seeking a flexible partnership with a farmer interested in planting row crops or hay on up to 15 tillable acres within two 80-acre parcels. Formerly used for grains, hay, and organic vegetables, the land is currently part of a larger hunting property. While some access challenges exist for large equipment, the owners are open to short-term leases, partnerships, or other creative arrangements to keep the fields in production. No payment required—just someone to keep the land active.

Farmer Profile: Meet Jen Vazquez
Each month we highlight a farmer looking to connect to land.
Meet Jen Vazquez
Jen is a seasoned grower with 20 years of experience in organic fruits, vegetables, flowers, seed keeping, and silvopasture. She's operated her own pasture-based hog farm, managed multiple fruit and vegetable operations, and brings strong skills in project management, agritourism, and community engagement. Now working remotely for a national ag nonprofit, Jen is seeking 5–100 acres in a supportive community where she can raise her children, scale up her farm business, and potentially partner with a retiring farmer or enter a creative land tenure agreement.
