Tragic Loss

Dear Olive Family,

As most of you know, we are grieving the loss of one of our Olive family members, Grace Ross. Grace was a sweet, smart and kind girl who loved everyone and was a friend to all. She loved Kindergarten, her teacher and playing with her friends. I know the community is hurting from this loss too, and I want you to know we are here to help.

Below, I have attached the statement teachers made to students today so that you are aware of what was shared with your students. We have additional counselors on hand today to meet with any students needing additional support. If your child speaks to a counselor today, you will be contacted by that person.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any needs your student and/or family may need during this difficult time. We are here to help and have many experienced and highly trained professionals ready to help.

Also, I want to thank you for the outpouring of support to Grace's family as well as the staff here at Olive. We really appreciate your prayers, thoughts and love.

Warmly,

Tara Bush

Teacher Statement

The following statement was shared in all classrooms today:

"This past Friday evening, one of our fellow students in kindergarten, Grace Ross, died. We don't know the details about what happened. Local police have arrested someone. Grace was a happy girl that was loved by her friends and was a friend to everyone she met. We will all miss Grace very much."
