EvergladesElementary Staff NewsWeek of February 24, 2025

Everglades family,

We hope you're having a fantastic weekend!

I'm excited to share highlights from the Ron Clark Admin Conference. It was truly EVERYTHING (and MORE) than I could have hoped for. The workshops and the time spent with Ron, Kim, and principals from across the nation were incredibly valuable. What's even more thrilling is the collaborative work being done between us principals and Kristen Rulison. As we've successfully established the House System in our schools, with the final cohort launching next year, 🙌our district is ready to begin implementing the academic components within our House schools. We've gathered some truly innovative ideas for this implementation, and I can't wait to share them with you all in the coming weeks!

💕Following my Day 1 recap in the daily update, I was overwhelmed with joy to wake up Friday morning to a flood of positive texts and emails from so many of you eager to step into House Leadership roles! Your enthusiasm is infectious, and I'm absolutely thrilled! The conference covered a wide range of essential topics, including effective interviewing, ensuring the sustainability of the House System and our school vision, communicating high expectations to all stakeholders, fundraising for student initiatives, impactful public speaking, boosting parent engagement, maintaining a healthy work/life balance to prevent burnout, and retaining and supporting our amazing staff and teachers.

Your dedication and willingness to grow are what make Everglades such a special place. I'm looking forward to the exciting journey ahead with all of you!

I can't wait to be back on campus with you all and our Panthers!

Warmly,

Christy

💕I wanted to provide you with a brief update on staffing and budget as we move forward.

The school budgets were released to principals on Friday. Jenna and I are dedicating this weekend to working on staff placements and planning for upcoming interviews.

I understand that there are numerous positions listed on PeopleSoft for Everglades. Please be aware that not all of these positions are currently vacant. I received special permission to post several positions early in anticipation of upcoming vacancies, allowing us to proactively seek qualified applicants. This resulted in some overlap when new positions were added. We are working with the district to remove the duplicate postings, and I ask that you please do not read too much into the current number of positions listed.

Jenna and I are committed to a thorough and thoughtful process. We are spending a significant amount of time researching each applicant, focusing on those who align with the Everglades vision and mission. The interview is just one component of our comprehensive evaluation.

Our goal is to finalize and communicate your placements before Spring Break, if not sooner. Please understand that these placements are tentative and will not be discussed with parents or community members until they are confirmed.

Our primary focus must remain on providing strong instruction for our Panthers through PM3. Thank you for your continued dedication and hard work.
