Amazing 2nd Quarter Celebrations!
We want to share three huge 2nd quarter celebrations with you all!! We had 465 students grow on at least one of their Winter NWEA tests. We also had 511 students who did not receive a tracker mark for behavior during class. Lastly, we had 367 students who got to class on time every period all 2nd quarter. This is 27 more students than 1st quarter. We are celebrating students with all new locker signs. Please ask your student what signs they have hanging on their lockers.
7th Grade Grant Proposals: A Huge Success!
What an incredible last two days for our 7th Grade students at Lakeview! Our students wrapped up their informational writing unit with grant proposals that showcased their creativity, confidence, and heart. They showed up in big ways: presenting polished proposals, responding to questions with professionalism, and demonstrating the real‑world skills of communication, writing with purpose, and critical thinking.
A huge thank‑you to all of the parents, school and district leaders, and volunteers who joined us as judges. Your time, encouragement, and thoughtful feedback made this celebration of learning even more meaningful. Our 7th grade students felt seen, supported, and truly celebrated.
To our students: congratulations on your hard work, dedication, and courage. You took on a challenging, authentic task, and you absolutely shined. We are so proud of you!
Here’s to big ideas, brave presentations, and a community that shows up to support our students.

Missouri Student Survey Information & Opt-out Deadline
Dear Parent/Guardian,
Every two years, Park Hill gives the Missouri Student Survey (MSS) (also known as the Safe and Drug-Free Schools Survey) to students in grade 6-12. The MSS provides valuable information about our students’ tobacco, drug, and alcohol use, as well as bullying, mental health challenges, and other youth risk behavior information. The data from this survey is actively used by the Park Hill Community Alliance for Youth (PHCAFY) to inform community prevention activities. This survey does not ask students to identify themselves and individual student responses are not reported or maintained. Information about the MSS can be found at the Missouri Department of Mental Health’s website (https://dmh.mo.gov/alcohol-drug/missouri-student-survey).
Lakeview Middle School will be administering the MSS survey the week of March 16, 2026. Participation in the survey is optional. If you would like for your student to NOT take the survey, please email us at mathesl@parkhill.k12.mo.us no later than February 27, 2026. Please include in that email your name, your students’ full name, and please specify that you do NOT want your student to take the Missouri Student Survey.
Thank you,
Lakeview Middle School Administration

Join NJHS Feb 23 at Chipotle Night to benefit the Banneker School Foundation
National Junior Honor Society is honoring Black History Month in February by hosting a fundraiser for the Banneker School. The Banneker School was the original black school in Parkville. The restored school is located on 8th street in Parkville. The Banneker Foundation spent a decade fundraising to restore the school. Now the Banneker Foundation is raising money to turn the school into a living history museum. Lakeview students and their families are invited to eat at Chipotle on Monday, February 23rd from 4:00-8:00pm. All the proceeds will be donated to the Banneker School Foundation. Please use the code on the included flyer to order online. Please present the flyer if ordering in person.
In addition, during the week of February 23-27, NJHS will be sponsoring "Cash Wars" during lunch. Students will donate cash at lunch. The winning team will win a popsicle party!
Thank you for helping support NJHS and the Banneker School Foundation!

PHSD DEIB Community Update and Conversation
Members of the Park Hill School District’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Council, in partnership with Sophic Solutions, will facilitate this community update and conversation. We invite you to join us.
Park Hill School District parents/guardians, staff, and community members are welcome to participate in these upcoming online forums. Each session will begin with a whole-group presentation highlighting the work of the District Council and District Action Teams since the 2025 community forums, as well as how this work aligns with the District’s 2023–2028 Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP).
Following the presentation, participants will move into small-group discussions to engage in meaningful dialogue, reflect on the work underway, and share feedback on how these efforts are being implemented within the specific school(s) with which they are connected.
We look forward to sharing the progress of our council and action teams and to discussing next steps aligned with our drivers and narratives, as well as the ongoing DEIB work occurring in each building. Thank you for your continued engagement and commitment to this critical work in Park Hill.
We are hosting two community forums: Thursday, February 19, 2026, and Monday, February 23, 2026. Both nights we will begin at 6:00 PM and end at 7:30 PM. Please register for only ONE session. The forum Zoom link will be sent, via email, on the day of your event.

Teacher Appreciation Gift Cards Needed
Dear Lynx Families,
We’re looking for a little help to make our teacher recognition program extra special this year! Our goal is to celebrate and reward teachers for their hard work and dedication by offering small gift card incentives throughout the year.
If you’re able, we’d love donations of gift cards in any amount to local restaurants, coffee shops, or popular stores (like Target or Amazon). These gift cards will be used as prizes for teachers who go above and beyond.
Donations can be dropped off at the front office or sent in with your student in an envelope labeled “Teacher Incentives.” Every contribution—big or small—makes a difference and helps us show our teachers just how appreciated they are!
Thank you for your generosity and continued support of our school community.
Warm regards,
The PBIS Committee
School Store Wish List Donations Needed
We are starting to utilize the Lakeview School PBIS Store this year! Students use Lynx Bucks (incentive dollars they can earn by demonstrating expected behaviors) to purchase items of their choice! If you are willing and able to donate any items for our school store, you can purchase any of the items on our School Store Wish List: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/VTPVCL9CJ2YO?ref_=wl_share
If you have a specific item that you would like to donate for a school-wide raffle (students can purchase entries using their Lynx Bucks) then we also accept donations for that purpose! Examples of items donated last year include: squishmallow stuffed animals, a replica Chiefs super bowl ring, a signed Royals jersey, etc. IF you have any questions, please feel free to contact Lauren Thetford at thetfordl@parkhill.k12.mo.us
