🌟 Weekly Highlights
🎤 Safety Patrol Takes the Mic at the BOE Meeting!
We are bursting with pride following this past Wednesday’s Board of Education meeting, where our very own Kasir, Julian, and Jade represented our school with incredible poise.
The trio took to the mic to give the community an inside look at a "day in the life" of a Safety Patrol member—from early morning arrivals to ensuring safety around the building. They also provided a thoughtful update on our Mental Health Awareness Assembly from January, sharing the important lessons our school has been practicing. Seeing our students speak so confidently in a formal setting was a true highlight of the evening!
🐝 Spotlight on Ms. Landau’s Room: Future Scientists at Work! 🌸
This week, Ms. Landau’s 3rd graders transformed their classroom into a high-tech laboratory! The class participated in a Students 2 Science (S2S) V-Lab, a virtual hands-on program focused on pollination. Using specialized STEM kits, these young scientists designed, tested, and refined their own "hand pollinators" to see exactly how insects help plants grow. Ms. Landau was blown away by the students' perseverance and teamwork as they tackled real-world engineering challenges. Great job, Ms. Landau’s class!
Exploring Excellence: 4th Grade Honors Black History
Mrs. Collymore’s 4th graders stepped into the role of historians and biographers! Students immersed themselves in a research project focused on influential Black leaders who have shaped our world. From civil rights icons to modern-day pioneers in STEM and the arts, our students are not just learning facts—they are discovering the power of perseverance and leadership.
