5. Select the employee to receive recognition from the drop down menu.

Communication is the key to a positive partnership between the Glen Loch staff and our Gator families. We want to make you aware of a small change in how we relay information regarding behaviors that occur at school — specifically behaviors in the classroom that may impede your child’s learning or the learning of others.

Instead of writing notes in the daily folder, we will now contact you by phone. This will allow us to have a conversation about the behavior and work together to find solutions that help prevent the behavior from continuing.

Thank you for your support and partnership!

Best,

Kris Smith

Staying Safe on the Pathways Staying Safe on the Pathways

The Woodlands Pathway Safety Video

The Woodlands Township has created a short safety video focused on e-bikes and scooters. We encourage you to watch this with your child(ren) as a reminder of safe riding practices and expectations.

Staying Safe on the Pathways - Respect the Path

Gator Families,

Arrival is a very busy time and we encourage everyone to follow these expectations to keep our Gators and their families safe, while also keeping traffic flowing on Glen Loch Drive for our community members.

Friendly Reminders:

  1. Please follow the YELLOW arrows when dropping off students for school (CAR).
  2. The 2 Walker Routes are PINK.
  3. For safety reasons, please do not let your child out of your car in the school or church parking lots to walk alone to the building.
  4. NO left hand turns into the school.
  5. When exiting, take a RIGHT HAND TURN out of Glen Loch onto Glen Loch Drive.

  • Give yourself plenty of time and understand traffic can get heavy between 7:40AM and 7:55AM.
  • Our doors open at 7:15AM each day.
  • Teachers begin teaching at 7:55AM each day.

Thank you for following our Arrival Procedures that keep our students safe!

Best,

Kris

NWEA MAP

The NWEA MAP Family Toolkit is an online resource designed to help families better understand MAP Growth and how it supports student learning. It includes short, easy-to-follow videos that explain the test’s design, what the testing experience is like for students, and how MAP Growth tracks progress over time. The toolkit also features a helpful article introducing the Family Report, which will be sent home after each testing window, along with a guide that explains how the test works, what it measures, and how scores are determined—all in language that is family-friendly.

NWEA MAP GROWTH FAMILY GUIDE

The NWEA Family Guide to MAP Growth, also found within the Family Toolkit, is a printable resource that clearly explains how the assessment works, what it measures, and how to interpret student scores.

NWEA MAP GROWTH PARENT FAQ

The MAP Growth Score Parent FAQ contains helpful FAQs to share with parents.

MAP Growth Assessment Family Reports have been uploaded to the Conroe ISD Home Access Center (HAC). The MAP Growth Family Report summarizes how your student is performing academically, as measured by the most recent MAP Growth test taken. To access the MAP Growth Family Report in HAC, navigate to the District Applications tab and click on "MAP Testing Reports". To learn more about the MAP Growth test, you can view the What is MAP Growth Video for Families (English) or Qué es MAP Growth-Video for families (Spanish). Additional information about MAP Growth can be found by visiting NWEA.org/familytoolkit.

Student Attendance Expectations Student Attendance Expectations

Attendance

Regular attendance is essential for your child's academic growth, starting from preschool and kindergarten.

  • Missing just 10% of school (about 2 days a month) can cause students to fall behind, particularly in key areas like reading.

  • Missing one or two days every few weeks can quickly add up and make it harder to catch up on missed material.

  • Being late or leaving early also disrupts the learning process and negatively impacts overall attendance.

  • When students are absent, teachers may need to slow down the pace to help catch them up, which can affect the entire class.

By prioritizing consistent attendance, you’re giving your child the best chance to thrive academically and stay on track throughout the school year.

  • Check-In: Please bring a government-issued ID to the front desk to sign in and receive a visitor’s badge. Be sure to wear it visibly throughout your time on campus.

  • Seating: Once in the lunchroom, please sit at the designated visitors’ table with your child(ren), as space is limited at the student tables.

  • Spending Time with Your Child: We understand this is a special moment, so we kindly ask that you only sit with your child during lunch.

  • Sign-Out: After lunch, please return to the front office to sign out with our staff.

  • Photos: We kindly request that if you take a picture, it is only of your child. No videos please.

Lunch times:

10:55 - 3rd/4th Grades

11:30 - 1st/2nd Grades

12:05 - PK/KG/ECSE 4s
