A BRIEF NOTE... A BRIEF NOTE...

Hello Lincoln Lion Families!

What an amazing Turkey Trot! We were blessed with a beautiful, sunny day for the 9th Annual Turkey Trot (Fun Run). Thank you to everyone who joined us to cheer on our students as they participated in the run. As in years past, this event proved to be the largest fundraiser, not only of the year, but in the history of the PTO. Thanks to the generosity of family, friends and community members over TWENTY-SIX THOUSAND ($26,000+) DOLLARS was raised to support enrichment activities, field trips and staff initiatives to benefit your children. We cannot thank you enough.

The top fundraising classroom was Ms. Marshall's Kindergarten. Their class won the honor of displaying the trophy in their classroom until next year's event. A student in Ms. MacDonald's Third Grade class was our top student fundraiser! She was awarded with a Turkey Hat and Turkey Leg for her efforts!

We would also like to thank the community partners who contributed to this event. Specifically, Starbucks who supplied coffee for families as they cheered on their students, Fades Away Barbershop and Hunt's Photo & Video for their generous support, and the MWRA for the water truck.

In addition, this event would not have taken place if it wasn't for the dedication of Nikki Ferrante. Thank you to Nikki for coordinating the Turkey Trot. We would also be remiss if we didn't thank all of the other volunteers who donated their time. To name a few: Kelly Shields-Lapierre, Ryan Blades, Chiara Mancinelli, and Meghan Dowd - I know there are many more of you, and sincerely appreciate all that you do to support Lincoln! We are a "LUCKY" school family!

Up next: Our Annual Winter Kindness Shop (Friday, December 1st) and Homegrown for the Holidays (Saturday, December 2nd).

This week is Spirit Week! Monday is Pajama Day. Tuesday is Dress to Impress Day, and Wednesday is Lincoln Pride Day. We look forward to everyone joining in the fun and showing their Spirit!

As a reminder, this Wednesday, November 22nd is an EARLY RELEASE DAY! Dismissal is at 12:00 - lunch will be served. There is no Education Stations that day.

We hope you and yours enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Warmly,

Laurie

DROP-OFF/PICK-UP REMINDERS

Dear Families,

We want to share a few reminders with regard to parking around Lincoln Elementary School. While we understand the parking situation isn't ideal, for the safety and wellbeing of our staff and your children, PLEASE do not enter the front or back parking lots before school, at the end of the school day, or during school hours. The back parking lot and front main parking circle are for staff parking only. Also, the area directly in front on the school on West Wyoming is strictly for a live drop-off only. Please do not park your vehicle. Doing so creates additional traffic backups to an already congested area, and makes it harder for other families to drop their students off.

There are spaces on West Wyoming and on the adjacent side streets where parking is available. With that in mind, please take note of two things:

1. It is against Massachusetts state law to sit idling in your car for more than 5 minutes. If you are parked and waiting to drop-off or pick-up your student, please turn your engine off.

2. When parking on the adjacent side streets, please be sure that you are parked in a legal space. Take note of no parking signs, and please be respectful of our neighbors by not blocking their access to their homes/driveways.

**No Dogs on school property during school hours.**

On behalf of Ms. Lesperance and the Student Council members, we would like to thank everyone who donated to the Student Council's Food Drive! The bins were stocked full and were overflowing with many items which will be donated to families in need. We are fortunate to be part of such a generous community.
