Little Wolf High School/Manawa Middle Families and Students,
If you are all like me, you are very much looking forward to spring and everything that spring includes, eating a good hot dog while watching our students play in a ball game, participate in a track meet, going to see a good play, and maybe walking your dog on that first warm day. Our students are already sporting shorts and t-shirts and are definitely ready. With spring, also comes our Testing Extravaganza season where students show off the skills they have learned. Be sure to read below with specific information about upcoming testing dates and requirements. We are looking forward to celebrating student growth, and setting new goals.
*Please, come join us for Parent-Teacher Conferences, Thursday, March 6th from 1pm-7pm at Little Wolf High/Manawa Middle.
Thank you to parents and community members for partnering with all of us at the school district to help support all of our student goals, strengths, and well being.
Michelle Johnson, Little Wolf High/Manawa Middle
Important Reminders:
Attendance:
Regular attendance is crucial for academic success. Please make sure your child attends school every day unless they are ill or there is an emergency. Students are permitted 10 excused absences, 5 per semester, in a year. As a reminder, it is important to pre-plan for vacations or absences when able to best provide course make-up work for our students. Remember to bring into the main office any medical documentation for current or pre-planned absences when possible. Any absence over 10, will be marked unexcused without medical documentation, and will be further reviewed.
For planned absences, appointments, or if you are calling in your student, call our attendance line (920) 596-5800 and push 2, or email Mrs. Behnke at rbehnke@manawaschools.org
Cell Phones:
Students are permitted to use cell phones during transition time while at their locker, and during lunch hour in the commons. Students may not bring their cell phones to classes scheduled throughout the day.
Dress Code:
Now that the weather is beginning to warm up, be sure that apparel is school appropriate.
As a reminder, our school has a dress code policy that all students are expected to follow. Please review the guidelines with your child before the first day of school.
*New this year: High school students are permitted to wear hats under teacher discretion.
Communication:
We believe in maintaining strong communication between home and school. Please make sure your contact information is up to date. We encourage you to regularly check our school’s website, social media, and email for important updates throughout the year.
If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact the school office at (920) 596-5800, or email Mary Johnson, majohnson@manawaschools.org, or Renee Behnke rbehnke@manawaschools.org.
Warm regards,
Michelle Johnson, Little Wolf High/Manawa Middle Principal
For the safety of our students, when picking up and dropping off students before and after school, students and families are not permitted to drive behind the school building. Be sure to watch crosswalks and slow down to allow for pedestrians to safely cross.

Safety for All Students and Staff
Student Safety Protocol:(Standard Response Protocol (SRP)
The Standard Response Protocol (SRP) provides consistent, clear, shared language and actions among all students, staff and first responders for all hazards. It is action based, and allows organizations, first responders, students, and parents to share a specific vocabulary for quick and coordinated action.
