Sick Children Stay at Home
Parents and guardians should keep a child home if they have any of these symptoms:
● Fever (100.4 degrees or higher within the last 24 hours)
● Vomiting (2 times or more)
● Red or puffy eyes with crust or goop
● Diarrhea (2 times or more)
● Excessive coughing or sneezing
Children must stay home until they have been fever-free for 24 hours without using any medicine to lower the fever. Parents and guardians should also keep their child home for 24 hours after the last time they vomited or had diarrhea. Any student who is absent from school cannot attend special events (like holiday parties) or after-school activities that day.
Important Note on Medicine: Please do not send your child to school if you have given them medicine to suppress their symptoms. While medicine like Tylenol or Motrin can make a child feel better for a short time, they still spread germs to others.

💡 Parent Moves: Read, Read...💡
Of all the things you can do as a parent to help your little one, one of the most important is to read with them. They may push back at first, but when you find good books, they will quickly warm up to the idea. So, take a trip to the library, book store, your neighbor's house...and explore some good books. Then, read, at least 20 minutes a day, with your little one. Bath, BOOKS, and Bed beginning at 7:30am is one of the most important parts of parenting elementary aged kiddos.
Our Character Strong focus for January is Perseverance
This month students will be working on perseverance! We are focusing on how to overcome and find solutions to our everyday struggles. Students will be working on team building activities and debriefing about problems they encountered and how they solved them.
Families are welcome to sign up for a home delivery of food during the month of January
If you don’t feel comfortable signing up for our delivery service, but would trust someone else to bring you food, please contact Marilu Gonzalez at mgonzalez@willowcreek.org to make arrangements.
