Hawk Highlights
October 2026
Happy Fall, Bellevue Families!
Fall is one of my favorite seasons—the crisp air, beautiful colors, and football games make this such a special time of year!
October brings our first round of conferences, and we are excited to share all the wonderful things your child is learning, as well as opportunities for continued growth. Conferences will be held on October 19th and 20th. Every family will have the opportunity to participate in a conference either in person, via Zoom, or by phone. Your child’s teacher will be reaching out soon with more information about the format they will be using this fall.
While you are here for conferences, we hope you’ll also stop by the PTA’s Annual Book Fair, which will be open both evenings. It’s a great opportunity to find some new books to enjoy at home!
On October 6th, your child will bring home an important First Count form. Please complete and return the form by October 31st. This process helps our district identify military-connected students and directly impacts the funding we receive through the Federal Impact Aid program. It is essential that we receive a completed form for every student.
Thank you for your attention to this important form and for your continued partnership and support of Bellevue Elementary. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Warmest regards,
Stephanie Kastrup

October Attendance Message
Healthy Students Learn Best
As cold and flu season begins, many families wonder when children should stay home and when they can safely attend school.
Students should remain home if they have a fever, are vomiting, or have symptoms that would prevent them from participating in learning. Once they have recovered according to school health guidelines, returning promptly helps prevent unnecessary missed instruction.
Routine medical and dental appointments remain important. Whenever possible, consider scheduling appointments before or after school or on days when students are not in session.
Good nutrition, adequate sleep, regular exercise, and handwashing are simple habits that reduce illness throughout the school year.
Family Tip: Review your school's illness guidelines so you know when students should stay home and when they are ready to return.
Attendance Reminder: Missing several individual days throughout the year can add up quickly. Healthy habits help students stay engaged in learning.
Run Hawks Run
- The PTA hopes to have this be our ONLY FUNDRAISER! We would greatly appreciate your help in reaching our goal of $32,000 before 10pm Thursday night (10/07). www.runhawksrun.com
- These donations will go directly back to your child in the form of field trips and enrichment experiences. Donation will also support so many other items for our school.
Friday, 10/09 - Run Hawks Run Day!
- The students will run for 30-35 minutes this Friday. The start and finish line will be behind the school by the swings.
- All students are encouraged to wear their Bellevue Elementary spirit wear.
- We cannot hold the run without enough volunteers on the course. Right now we still need many more volunteers to help monitor for injuries while also cheering them on. Please consider signing up to volunteer using this linkhttps://signup.com/Group/537018732866138046/
- We know everyone wants to be at the start/finish lines for their own child's run, which is why we've tried to offset the shift times from the run times. Please consider taking a 30 minute shift before or after your student(s) run. Please sign up today!
- Rain Date is 10/12
October is National Bullying Prevention Month
Repeated:-bullying behaviors or actions happen more than once
Intentional:-bullying behaviors or actions occur without provocation
Power Imbalance:-students who display bullying or behaviors use their power-such as physical strength, access to embarrassing information, or popularity-to control or harm others.
Book Fair
We are excited to have the Scholastic Book Fair this year. Please remember that we will not open the doors for families until after dismissal is completed. You will be able to browse for books starting at 3:10-7:00 on October 19th & 20th.
