Updates from Your High School DLS Team - October 6, 2020
Schoology Tip of the Week
Mastery Settings - how to customize the Mastery report settings
Mastery Export - see how students did on every Assessment question or Schoology materials aligned to a measured learning objective (video will be added to this document later today)
If you are having issues pulling the Mastery Export reach out to your campus DLS!
Also, you may want to check your settings on the course to ensure notifications are turned on for additional materials so you know when students submit.
Nearpod Tip of the Week
If you are the holder of a coveted district license in Nearpod, please remember that there is a limited number of licenses available, and users that are not utilizing it get downgraded to the silver account. The good news is Nearpod has ramped up their silver account so you can still do a lot if you don't have a district license!
Exporting & Importing Grades
Google Meet Host Controls Available
Google has rolled out a few updates to Meet. When you open a new Meet Room (that you control - you created the calendar event or Room) you may have noticed a blue shield in the bottom left corner. Clicking on the shield opens the Meet Host Controls for Meeting Safety.
Turning on or off the three sliders will help you maintain a tighter control on your Meet safety.
Quick Access allows you to control who can join your session.
Share their screen allows you to shut off the sharing controls for your participants.
Send Chat Messages allows you to turn on or off your chat room in the Meet.
Be sure to watch the video below from our Multimedia and Events Coordinator, Joshua Hicks.
Google Meet Background Blur
NOTE: Background blur is currently not available on Chromebooks. Blurring your background may slow down your device. You may want to turn this feature off to allow other apps to run faster on your computer.
