Madison High School Updates
April 5th, 2026
Message from Mrs. Thomas
Happy Easter! We hope everyone had a wonderful long holiday weekend! This week begins state testing for students in grades 9, 10, & 11. Please encourage your student to get good sleep, eat breakfast in the morning, and give their best effort when they test! While high-stakes tests certainly are not the only measurement of a student's potential, they do provide valuable feedback to students, parents, and teachers and can open the door to opportunities for students both now and in the future.
Our 9th grade students will take the PSAT 8/9 on Wednesday, April 8th. Our 10th grade students will take the PSAT 10 on Wednesday, April 8th, as well.
All 11th grade students in Michigan are required to take the Michigan Merit Exam (MME). The MME is comprised of 4 different assessments; the SAT, the WIN Work Readiness Assessment, the M-Step Science, and the M-Step Social Studies. The tests will be administered on 3 separate days beginning with the SAT on Wednesday, April 8th. A full testing schedule can be viewed here.
On Wednesday, April 8th our 12th grade students will not have in-person classes at Madison. All Madison classes will meet virtually and students are to access their assignments via Canvas. Students who attend the Tech Center are expected to attend in-person. The Tech Busses will be departing Madison at their regular time. Students wishing to drive directly to the Tech Center on Wednesday make pick up a driving pass from the high school office.
News from the Counseling Office
SENIOR INFORMATION NEEDED
The Counseling Office is working on a display to recognize and celebrate each senior's future plans. All seniors were sent a survey to complete that will ensure everyone can be included. If your senior has not yet made a decision on their future plans, please encourage them to communicate to the Counseling Office once a decision is made!
