Vomit? Fever? Diarrhea?
This is a reminder that children need to stay home for AT LEAST 24 hours after vomiting or having diarrhea and they must be fever-free without the help of medication.
There are no exceptions to this rule. Even if you suspect food poisoning, they need to stay home for at least 24 hours. This 24 hour window provides time for your child to feel better and for you to ensure that they are in-fact healthy before returning to school.
Thank you for partnering with us as we work to ensure our school remains healthy.

Bobcat Choir Concert
Yesterday, the entire school got the privilege of attending a performance by the Bobcat Choir. The choir consists of 3rd through 5th grade students who participate in the extracurricular choir. Their hard work was on display and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone! Here are a few photos...
4th Grade Birdhouse Project
Fourth graders got the unique opportunity to learn about birds and build their own birdhouses through a hands-on program offered by Elpis Enterprises. Students learned about local bird species, the benefits of attracting birds to yards, and identifying bird calls. Then, students used hammers, nails, and drills to construct birdhouses made from recycled cedar fences.
This special experience was part of Elpis Enterprises’ “This Land of 10,000 Diverse Fourth Grade Birdwatchers” program. The program also supports young adults impacted by homelessness, who work as paid interns to help facilitate these projects.
Sponsored by local organizations such as the Osseo Maple Grove American Legion, this initiative left a lasting impact on the Cedar Island community by fostering environmental appreciation, skill development, and unforgettable memories.

Procedure Change
We are updating our student pick-up process to enhance security and promote a healthier environment.
When picking up your student early, please use the intercom to notify the office of your arrival. Our staff will sign your student out from within the office, and we kindly ask that you wait in the vestibule rather than entering the office itself.
We will begin implementing this change gradually and aim to have it fully in practice by winter break.
Thank you for your cooperation as we work to create a safer and healthier school environment for everyone!
4th Grade Fire Safety Poster Contest
4th Graders welcomed special visitors to their classrooms this fall - the Maple Grove Fire Department! Then, students participated in a poster-making contest where the winners were chosen by the Firefighters.
The winners are...Lucy, Elana and Remington.
Congratulations!
