CAO's Message
Help Us Recognize an Outstanding Raven Staff Member!
At Irvington Community Schools, we know that great schools are built by people who make a difference for students and families every day. This year, we are excited to introduce our Raven Staff of the Month recognition program and we want our families to be part of the celebration!
Each month, nominations will focus on a characteristic connected to The Irvington Way: Respectful, Responsible, Safe, Involved, and Focused. Families, students, and staff will have the opportunity to nominate an Irvington staff member who demonstrates that month's characteristic through their actions, service, and commitment to our school community.
August Focus: RESPECTFUL
Builds positive relationships and treats students, staff, and families with dignity, kindness, and professionalism.
Think about the teachers, instructional assistants, office staff, counselors, administrators, custodians, food service staff, and other team members who have made a positive impact.
Who have you seen demonstrating RESPECT?
We would love to hear their story! Take a few minutes to submit a nomination and help us recognize the incredible people who make Irvington a special place to learn and grow.

School Highlights
ICES- Celebrating Growth, Attendance & the Irvington Way
School Assembly: At the August assembly on Friday, we celebrated all kinds of exciting things! Students who were chosen for Raven of the Week were recognized by their teachers and peers. Excellent job using your coping skills in August! Next month we will celebrate our ravens who demonstrate self control.
All of the students who currently have a 95% daily attendance rate were added to our first wheel of names and thirteen of them were randomly selected to win prizes! Two classes met our weekly 95% attendance rate and won popsicles on the playground. Congrats to Mrs. Pfiefer and Miss Golding’s class!
iReady Testing: Students completed iReady testing. Teachers sent letters home this week showing how your child performed on the assessment. We will begin small group math instruction Monday!
Weekly Attendance Rate: We surpassed our attendance goal of 91%, reaching a school wide weekly attendance rate of 92%!
ICMS- Giving Back to Our Community!
Our ICMS students had a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community alongside our Assistant Principal, Mr. Dunner! The students spent time at New City Church, the location of our very first school, helping with groundskeeping and giving a little TLC to a place that holds special significance in our history. It was a beautiful day to work together, serve others, and remember that being a Raven means being part of something bigger than ourselves. We are so proud of our students for representing ICMS with kindness, hard work, and a heart for our community!

ICMS- A Little Extra Joy!
What better way to wrap up the final Friday of the month than with a little food, fun, and appreciation?! Mrs. Hagan treated our ICMS staff to a visit from the Magnolia Cafe food truck, bringing some extra joy to everyone’s day! And thanks to some incredibly generous ICMS families, the celebration was made even more special, lunches and specialty sodas were sponsored for ALL of our amazing staff members! We are so grateful for families who recognize and appreciate the hard work our educators pour into our students every single day. Thank you, ICMS families, for loving on our staff! These amazing, hardworking educators are truly grateful!

ICS- Help Us Tell the Irvington Story!
Your voice. Your ideas. Our Irvington.
We’re bringing together families, staff, alumni, and community members for a special Marketing & Rebranding Night, and we want YOU at the table!

📍 Irvington Preparatory Academy
This will be an interactive evening focused on one big question:
How can we better tell the story of who we are, what makes Irvington special, and why families should choose to become part of the Raven community?
We’ll brainstorm ideas around marketing, community outreach, events, social media, storytelling, and more. From there, we’ll form smaller teams so everyone can contribute in an area that matches their interests, talents, and connections.
You don’t have to be a marketing expert we need people who know and care about Irvington!
Come ready to share ideas, think creatively, and help us showcase everything that makes our schools a great place to learn and grow.
Once a Raven, Always a Raven
Every classroom, every campus, every student is part of one Irvington family. Whether your child is just beginning in kindergarten or preparing for graduation, we are committed to supporting them every step of the journey.
