I hope your first week of 2023 was a great one! We are looking forward to a wonderful and productive January with your children.

This month, the students will begin the first process of our new KRS mural, which will eventually be erected on the wall near the kindergarten playground facing Kings Road. All classes will be scheduled to paint on the mural panels in mid-January. Muralist Caren Olmsted, who also coordinated our lobby mural, is excited to return to our school. Our project is highlighted on the home page of her website.

The fifth grade students should be on the look-out for community service opportunities. The fifth grade student council will be meeting soon to discuss our winter service project. Additionally, there are plans in place for fifth grade students to work with our younger students during their Meet the Masters projects. Information regarding volunteer opportunities will be emailed out to students and parents.

The KRS PTO meetings are always engaging, productive, and informative. Please consider attending the next PTO meeting on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 7 PM at KRS. We would love to see you there!

We’re looking for new volunteers! Join us on January 26th at Harvest Bistro to meet MEF representatives, learn about specific 2023 volunteer opportunities, and sign-up to help at upcoming special events, including the MEF Madison 5K, the MEF Pickleball Tournament, and the MEF Fall Adult Social.
