Principal's Note Principal's Note

Dear MMES Families,

Well on top of the wonderful weather we had this week, there was additional sunshine in the building too! The children showered our staff with love and appreciation this week (with a little help from some grownups) for Principal's Appreciation Day, Administrative Assistants Day, and Lunchroom Hero Day.

From parades through the office to signs of appreciation and special poems and drawings, we all could feel how much our little people appreciate what we do everyday. This came on the heels of tremendous support that we all felt at MMES after MBTS Town Meeting on Monday. This truly is a special community and a special school.

Thank you all for your support and partnership at home. I think we make quite a good team together!

Have a great weekend!

Best,

John

Family Math Ideas Family Math Ideas

Encouraging your child to use mathematical language is an important part of developing early numeracy and mathematical skills. Which One Doesn’t Belong is a fun way to get kids talking about their mathematical thinking. In these activities, students look at four images and decide which one doesn’t belong. They then defend their choice. For an extra challenge, see if your child can come up with a reason why each of the four images is different from the other three. Have fun!

The final session of after school activities is about to begin.

Please help us to get your students where they need to be after school by updating PickUp Patrol for ALL changes to dismissal - Park & Rec programs, Green Team, Ambassadors. You can use the notes section to give additional details. Dismissal should be updated for each week that your student has an after school activity.

Thank you for your help.

Happy Spring!

Please remember:

· If your child is going to be absent, tardy, or there is a change to dismissal plans- utilize PickUp Patrol for those changes.

· If your child has a temperature of 100.4F or over, they need to be fever free for 24 hours (without the aid of Tylenol or Motrin) before re-entering the school.

· If your child is experiencing diarrhea or vomiting, they need to be symptom free for 24 hours and can tolerate solid food before re-entering the building.

· If your child has a contagious illness such as conjunctivitis or strep throat, it is the school policy that they are on medicine for 24 hours before re-entering the building.

· ALL CLASSROOMS ARE PEANUT/NUT FREE

Change of clothes: Each student should have a complete change of clothes (head to toe) in case of spills, wetness from playing outside, or any accidents. The weather is cool in the mornings and beginning to warm up in the afternoons... Layers are always a great option!

Physicals: Please send in the most current physicals for 1st and 4th grade students.
