Drop off & Pick Up /Entrada y Salida
Dear Pioneer Families,
As we continue through the school year, I would like to remind everyone of the importance of following traffic laws during student drop-off and pick-up times. Your cooperation helps keep all of our students safe.
Please observe speed limits, crosswalks, and parking regulations around our campus. These rules are in place to protect our Titan community.
Thank you for helping us keep our students safe.
Sincerely,
Ms. Chapman
Atentamente,
Sra. Chapman

Speech Contest
There's a High School Student Speech Contest on Monday, January 26, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the WUHSD Board Room (Building R, 9401 S. Painter Ave, Whittier).
Students participating will give a three-minute speech about this year's topic: "Lead with Care." Students will talk about how leaders can show that caring about others makes them stronger, and share how students lead with care in their own community.
We can send two students from our school. The winner gets a $350 scholarship and moves on to the next round on March 11, 2026. If you keep winning, you could speak at a big event in April!
Students who would like to participate, can see Mrs. Shin-Perez in J-18 during lunch beginning December 3rd. This is your chance to share your ideas and represent our school!
Classroom Spotlight: Critical Thinking & Academic Language
Shout Out: We have seen excellent examples of engaging, rigorous instruction that challenged students to think deeply and problem-solve.
In Mrs. Chavez's English class, students participated in a simulated escape room that required them to synthesize information from multiple sources and use critical thinking to solve challenges. The activity generated outstanding student engagement, academic discourse, and collaboration.
Meanwhile, in Mr. Toft's Algebra 2 class, students tackled a practice SBAC performance task, analyzing data from various sources and explaining their mathematical reasoning. Students rose to the challenge of this complex, real-world application.
Both activities exemplify the kind of instruction that prepares students for success—where they must integrate information, think critically, and justify their conclusions. Thank you to our teachers for creating these meaningful learning experiences!
