Weekly Parent Smore
11/17/25 Through 11/21/25
Parents are a child’s first and most influential teachers. Every encouraging word you speak, every moment you spend listening, and every bit of love you give helps shape the confidence and character your child carries into the world. Thank you for partnering with us, believing in your child’s potential, and showing them what it means to grow with courage, curiosity, and kindness. Together, we’re building a foundation that will empower them to dream big and achieve even more.
School Safety and School Drills
The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. To ensure we are prepared for any situation, our school regularly practices safety drills, including fire, severe weather, and lockdown procedures. These drills help students learn what to do in a calm, consistent way so they can respond confidently if an emergency ever occurs. While we hope these situations never happen, being prepared is essential.
Thank you for supporting our efforts by talking with your child about the importance of following directions and taking each drill seriously. Working together, we can help create a safe, secure learning environment for every student.
School Attendance and Chronic Absenteeism
Consistent school attendance is one of the strongest predictors of a child’s academic success. When students miss school—whether the absences are excused or unexcused—they miss valuable learning time, classroom discussions, hands-on activities, and opportunities to build confidence and relationships with teachers and peers.
Chronic absenteeism is defined as missing 10% or more of the school year, which is roughly 18 days. We currently have NO students who are chronically absent and we would like to keep it like this! Even a few missed days each month can add up quickly and make it harder for students to keep up. Children who are chronically absent are more likely to struggle academically and feel less connected to school.
We ask for your partnership in helping your child attend school regularly and on time. If challenges arise—whether related to health, transportation, or family needs—please reach out. We are here to support you and work together to ensure every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed each day.
Respectful, Responsible, and Ready to Learn
At our school, we believe that academic success begins with positive habits and strong character. When students show respect, take responsibility, and come to school ready to learn, they create a safe and supportive environment where everyone can thrive.
Being Respectful means treating classmates, teachers, and our school community with kindness and consideration.
Being Responsible means making good choices, taking ownership of actions, and caring for materials and shared spaces.
Being Ready to Learn means arriving prepared, staying focused, and giving each task your best effort.
Together, these expectations help students build confidence, develop leadership skills, and make the most of every learning opportunity. Thank you for reinforcing these values at home and partnering with us to help every child succeed.
