MT's purpose is to educate and empower students to become responsible citizens.
A Few Words From the Principal
Thank you all for the wonderful desserts you made and bought for our staff to take home for Thanksgiving. Over the last few weeks I have been talking about gratitude and the positive endorphins that are released by both the recipient and the giver. We have done activities with our students to encourage them to show their gratitude and as a staff we have done the same. I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to our MTMS community. Thank you for your support in providing your student with the best learning opportunity possible. I am so fortunate to live in a community where our parents and business owners are always willing to jump in and work with us to make MTMS the best that it can.
We are looking forward to December and celebrating our successes we have had this year as well as the season of giving. Please see our December to Remember calendar below for our upcoming community service drive and themed days for the month of December.

Attendance Reminders
As cold and flu season ramps up and our lives get busy, please remember to report absences and late arrivals to the school by 8:30 a.m. You may call the school attendance line at 913-422-5854 or use the online absence reporting form. The school will call to follow-up with unreported absences after 8:30. Students arriving tardy after 7:55 must enter through the front office doors (you are not required to escort late students inside, but if your student is late due to an appointment, please report it to the office in advance so their attendance is appropriately marked).
Students are allowed ten (10) days of excused absences per school year without an accompanying doctor’s note. (This includes illnesses, appointments, and “parent request” absences, which should be coordinated with the school in advance). Absences in excess of ten (10) without accompanying documentation will be considered unexcused. Missing a substantial portion of a day (three (3) or more class periods) shall be considered one "day."
You are not required to notify the office in advance if you will be checking a student out during the school day for an appointment. Please have your ID ready at the door, state your student's name and indicate you are checking them out, and complete the student check out inside and we will call your student from class at that time. Students will only be released to parent/guardians or emergency contacts listed in Skyward unless coordinated in advance with the school.
