Dear Wilson Families,

We have had an incredible first month of the 2025-2026 school year! From the minute our students settled into their classrooms, learning began and so much growth has already taken place.

As we continue to work together this school year, I want to take a moment to talk about something that is foundational to student success: attendance. Every day matters. When students come to school consistently and on time, they have more opportunities to learn, build relationships, and fully engage in the life of our school community.

Missing just two days of school a month can place a student in chronic absenteeism, which research shows has a direct and lasting impact on academic achievement.

We understand that recent events in our community may be creating fear and uncertainty for some families. Please know that Wilson Elementary School District remains a safe and welcoming space for every child. Our commitment is to protect, nurture, and support each student who walks through our doors.

If your child has been absent due to concerns, I encourage you to reach out to your school or to our Welcome Center. We are here to listen, answer questions, and work together to ensure that every student feels safe and ready to learn.

Your partnership matters. Together, we can make sure our students are present, prepared, and positioned for success—not just this month, but all year long.

Thank you for trusting Wilson ESD with your child’s education. We are here for you. We are proud to be Wilson.

With appreciation,
Mr. Rose
Superintendent
Wilson Elementary School District

Too Cool to Miss School — Our New District-Wide Challenge! Too Cool to Miss School — Our New District-Wide Challenge!

Will Your Student Win?

Our students are too cool to miss school! That is why we have created a district-wide challenge to get our students and families active participants in learning every day! Here is how it works:

From now until Fall Break, students will be monitored for perfect attendance (this also includes not missing class time due to late arrivals or early pickups before the school day ends). Students with doctor's notes will be excused.

  • Monthly Class Competition – Each month, the class with the highest attendance rate wins a “Cool Day” celebration, which could be popsicles, donut party, extra recess, or another fun activity (per our principals choice).

  • Individual Recognition – Students who achieve perfect attendance for the month receive a “Too Cool to Miss School” recognition, along with a shoutout in our newsletter and on social media.

  • Photo Wall – We created a #TooCoolToMissSchool wall where students with great attendance can add their photo each month.

Fall Sports Season is Almost Here! Fall Sports Season is Almost Here!

Get ready, Wildcats—fall sports are here and we could not be more excited to see our athletes back in action! This season, our students will have the opportunity to compete, grow, and shine in Flag Football, Girls Volleyball, Cross Country, and Cheerleading.

Sports are more than just games at Wilson—they are a chance for students to build teamwork, discipline, and school spirit while creating memories that will last a lifetime. Whether they are scoring the winning touchdown, spiking the ball over the net, crossing the finish line, or leading cheers from the sidelines, our student-athletes represent The Wilson Way with pride.

We cannot wait to cheer on our Wildcats this fall—let’s make it a season to remember!

Partnering To Make A Difference Partnering To Make A Difference

We are incredibly grateful to our friends at Haydon for their generous donation of items for our Wilson Food Pantry! Their support helps ensure that our families have access to the essential resources they need.

Partnerships like this make a big difference—not only by filling shelves, but by filling hearts. The Wilson Food Pantry serves dozens of families every month, and contributions from community partners like Haydon allow us to continue meeting those needs with dignity and care.

From all of us at Wilson Elementary School District, thank you, Haydon, for your amazing partnership and commitment to supporting our students and families. Together, we are making a lasting impact.
