OBMS Family Weekly Update

PARENTS: If you have not set up your parent portal or have not tried to go into your parent portal this year, please do so ASAP. There are several forms that need to be completed for the start of the school year. This is a new procedure and takes the place of the first day folders that used to come home. You cannot access this information by logging into your child's FOCUS/ Gradebook account. You must log in to YOUR PARENT PORTAL account. It should be much faster for you to complete. These forms are extremely important for your student in terms of safety, instructional materials, laptop check out, etc. Yes, it will take a few minutes to complete, but it is worth it! We are very appreciative of the time it will take you to complete these forms because it will help us help your child. See below for a flyer on how to set up your account.

Picture Day is Friday, August 22nd. We need volunteers to assist our photographers. If you are willing to assist for either a morning or afternoon session, please use the link below to sign up. All volunteers must have an approved volunteer application on file for this school year. If you have not already completed a volunteer application it is very simple and quick approval time. Please remind your student it is a state law that all students in secondary schools must wear a photo ID while they are on campus. We provided every student with their first ID free. Beginning Monday, if they do not have their ID, we will print them a new one and charge their account which can be paid in parent portal. ID replacements are $5 each. Students may purchase an extra ID to keep in their backpack at any time using the parent portal account or bring in $5 to the school cashier.

If you have student interested in🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏻‍♀️ cross country (boys and girls), they must have the EL2, EL3 and Pay to Play forms turned into Mrs. Robinson in the 7th grade house prior to beginning practice. See below for required forms and the flyer. Practices will begin, August19th at 8:00am - 8:40am. Athletes will meet on the track. Coach Strasser aastrass@volusia.k12.fl.us
🏐Girls Volleyball tryouts are set for this coming Tuesday and Thursday 4:30 - 5:45. Girls interested in the volleyball club must have the completed physical forms below (EL2 and EL3). See flyer below for more information. Coach Misuraca ejmisura@volusia.k12.fl.us
This coming Saturday, 8/23, we will be hosting a 🎤🎵🎶🎺PERFORMING ARTS OPEN HOUSE for any students that are considering a schedule change request for band or chorus. This is a perfect opportunity for students to come check out the program. No experience required, we will teach you. Middle school is the perfect time to try new things. Come on by with your family and see what our band and chorus programs have to offer. Flyer below with more information.
