Tumuaki / Principal Message Tumuaki / Principal Message

It has been wonderful to have so many parents and whānau attend our parent interviews this week. Our tamariki love having the opportunity to show off their work and share their learning, and it has been lovely to see the pride they have in their progress.

We have also really appreciated the thoughtful questions parents have asked about how they can support learning at home. Your feedback has been valuable for us as a kura, and it helps us continue to strengthen the way we work together for the benefit of our tamariki.

This time we had 87% of parents attending interviews, which is a great improvement and much stronger than the attendance we had at our maths evenings. We are grateful for your support and would love to continue building on this for our student-led conferences in Term 4.

This week has also been full of exciting learning opportunities, including sports and media workshops. It is great to see our tamariki continuing to challenge themselves, try new things, and follow our school kōrero anamata." turukihia tō taumata tiketike!"

E hikakā ana mātou ki Te Rā o Matariki mā ngā Kaumātua hei te 2 o Hūrae, ā, e tuku ana i ngā mihi mahana ki ngā whānau katoa mō ngā hararei haumaru, harikoa hoki. E tika ana kia whai wā whakatā ā tātou tamariki, ā tātou kaiako hoki, i muri i tēnei wāhanga pukumahi, whai hua hoki.

Ngā mihi nui,

Erin Te Pou
Tumuaki

Come and spend time together in the classroom, take part in Matariki-themed activities, create memories, and celebrate this special time of reflection, connection, and new beginnings.

To finish our celebration, each class will enjoy a shared kai together.

We would love to see our kaumātua join us for this special occasion.

Rebuild Update Rebuild Update

Kia ora whanau

We are on the last leg of our build! The arrival of rain has put some of our outside tasks on hold. Some vital tasks was able to be completed in the meantime.

1. The court tarseal is completed!! Fencing will go up in the next few weeks (weather permitting) and soon tamariki will be shooting hoops in no time!

2. The kitchenettes and lino has been installed in B Block classes. The carpet tiles will be laid next week.

3. The wall coverings are up and looking smart!

4. External painting was started and will carry on next week (weather permitting of course!) soon B Block will match the rest of our kura.

5. Drainage and water fountains are being finished off. Once the sun comes out, concrete can be laid. This is looking more likely in the holidays so will be a nice surprise for our Term 3 start.

6. The last part ALL of us are waiting on is the tarsealing of driveway and staff carpark. Not a job that can be done in the rain, so once again we will need to wait for a dry day!

7. A tidy up around the site will see the contractor office being moved as well, possibly next week or in the holidays. Please keep an eye on our social media for updates.

Thank you to all whanau for being so super supportive of the disruptions. I hope you enjoyed the new look around when you all came in for interviews.
