Hello SES Community,
This has been a great wee! This week we had our first community coffee where I had the pleasure of connecting with Shoreham parents to discuss the great work our students and staff are doing.
Also our 4/5 students have started doing our daily morning announcements where they share daily information with all in our school community. We always close with our school expectations; Respect Ourselves, Respect Others and Respect our Environment
We also had our very first fire drill and our first all school assembly this week. Students did a great job of following directions and listening. Our all school assembly was with Ms. Warren from the National Bank of Middlebury. She shared with our school community great facts about why students should save money. Such as; saving for a bike, trip and or college to name a few. She also shared that they can start a savings account by depositing any amount they can spare. She will be here every Friday morning starting at 7:45 am in the cafeteria for students to make deposits . This is a great opportunity for our students to start a savings account if they wish.

Please join us in welcoming Rodrigo Placencia, our new Spanish teacher! Rodrigo will be joining us twice a week to teach Spanish to our 2nd through 5th graders.
A native of Mexico City, Rodrigo Placencia is thrilled to bring his Spanish language expertise and vast educator experience to our elementary school classrooms. During his 18-year career in the education field, Rodrigo has demonstrated remarkable adaptability by taking on different roles in diverse learning environments, from working as a music instructor at Pacific Union College in California to serving as an Educational Assistant at Bristol Elementary School to leading music workshops at MAUSD's Expanded Learning Program to coaching for our youth sports organizations, Rodrigo always brings utmost energy and enthusiasm to his work.
When he is not in the classroom, Rodrigo enjoys making music, spending time with his family, and exploring the great outdoors.
