Weekly Family Update - September 6, 2024
September Lifeline: Kindness
"Human kindness has never weakened the stamina or softened the fiber of a free people. A nation does not have to be cruel to be tough."
- Franklin D Roosevelt
"Make KINDNESS the norm."
- Random Acts of Kindness Foundation
Dear Boone Meadow Families,
Lifelines are a key part of our daily life at school, guiding students on how to positively impact the world around them. For the month of September, we’re focusing on the Lifeline of Kindness. We've had meaningful conversations with students about the importance of kindness and how small, thoughtful acts can help everyone feel a sense of belonging and care. Whether it’s a random act of kindness or simply sharing a smile, these moments can brighten someone’s day and make our world a little better.
This weekend also brings the much-anticipated annual Zionsville Fall Festival! The parade begins at 10:00 AM, stepping off from the high school and ending in downtown Zionsville. Lions Park will be bustling with carnival fun on both Saturday and Sunday—I hope to see many of you there!
Boone Meadow Voices (choir) begins on Monday (9/9/24), and we are excited to hear the sweet voices create great music. If you are interested in an after school choir program or any other after school enrichment opportunities offered at Boone Meadow, please check out the Eagle Recreation information and offerings located near the end of this flyer. Also on Monday, we hold our first PTO meeting of the year. Please view the PTO information below for more details.
September also means it’s time for our annual PTO-sponsored Jog-A-Thon! This important fundraising event will take place on Friday, September 27th. Be sure to check the attached flyer for details and stay tuned for more information.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Visitors and Volunteers
During the school day, all volunteers are expected to check in at the front office. Prior to the volunteer's first volunteer experience, the individual must sign a Non-disclosure Acknowledgement Form and have successfully completed a Full Criminal History Background Check.. Necessary background check paperwork is available on the ZCS website at the Volunteers/BRAVO link and should be submitted at least 10 days before the intended volunteer date. Volunteers must also view the state-mandated confidentiality/bullying video, provided on the Volunteer/BRAVO website. The volunteer will pay the fee for the full background check which will expire after 5 years.
During the school day, all visitors must enter via the front door and sign in at the front office. Visitors need to be prepared to present a government-issued photo ID which will be scanned against the National Sex Offender Registry. All visitors will be issued a visitor badge/tag to be worn inside the building at all times. Visitors other than parents/guardians must be prearranged and organized through the main office.
