Springer Families,

We are off to a great start as we begin our third week of school! Thank you to our students, staff, and families for helping establish positive routines and a strong sense of community.

A few important reminders:

  • For everyone’s safety, please do not park or wait along Shipley Road during arrival or dismissal. Following our car line procedures helps protect our students and keeps traffic moving safely and efficiently.
  • MAP testing begins this week. These assessments provide a baseline of what students currently know and help teachers plan instruction and support. Our goal is to use these results to monitor and celebrate each student’s growth throughout the school year.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Let’s keep the great momentum going.

Springer Middle School will hold its 3rd Annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb as we commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. Together, we will climb to remember and honor the lives lost, the heroes who responded, and the courage and sacrifice shown that day. We climb because we remember.

Thank you for your patience as we completed Chromebook distribution. All seventh- and eighth-grade students have received a Chromebook and charger to use at school and at home. Students should not place stickers on their devices or mark them in any way; Chromebooks may be labeled with masking tape showing the student’s name and grade.

In an effort to limit screen time and reduce device damage, Chromebooks will not be individually distributed to sixth-grade students. However, sixth graders will continue to have access to Chromebooks and other technology in each classroom whenever needed for instruction—they simply will not bring devices home.

The BSD Technology Agreement is available in English and Spanish here: BSD Student Device Agreement.

As we begin our third week of school, we appreciate our students and families for supporting Springer’s cellphone-free environment. All cellphones must be turned off and secured in Yondr pouches throughout the entire school day. Following this expectation helps students stay focused on learning, engage with classmates, and build stronger face-to-face connections.
