A Message from the Aspen Ridge PTO
The Aspen Ridge Elementary PTO had our first meeting in the school building on Sept. 15th, a milestone event! Thank you to all who were able to attend.
A quick summary of discussions and ways to get involved is below. We are officially a non-profit organization with bylaws and accounts! We can start fundraising soon to support our students, staff and community at large.
Looking to get involved?
- Nominations for the Inaugural PTO board are currently open and will close on Oct. 31. If interested in running for a board position, please email Mr. Smith at SmithPatrick@district279.org with your name and desired position. Elections will be held in Nov. and official term to start in Jan. 2027.
- Interested in getting involved but worried about that time commitment? Volunteer to head or join a committee! We are looking for committee chairs and members for the following:
- Hospitality - specifically to help organize conference meals for staff this Oct.
- Book Fair - Nov event, Feb winter conferences and a spring event.
- Donations - help organize Dine to Donate events that will start soon.
- Event Committees - Fun Run coming in the winter of 2027.
- Help support our amazing staff through donations for Conference Meals in Oct.
- Send in an envelope labeled Conference Meals Donations with cash or a check made out to Aspen Ridge Elementary PTO with your student (to be collected by their teacher.)
- Venmo @aspenridgepto
Our next meeting will be Tues Oct 20th starting at 6pm in the media center. The first 30 minutes will be dedicated to hearing from a few Aspen Ridge teachers and student ambassadors about how things are going in the first month at our new school. Business meeting to follow from 6:30-7:30pm. Please let us know if there are future topics or speakers you’d like to hear from at upcoming meetings!
