Principal's Post: Student Attendance
Dear ELC/PC Families,
We are extremely grateful for the communication and partnership with families around student attendance thus far this school year.
Daily routines are essential for reducing stress and creating a sense of security for students and adults.
Please take steps to keep your child healthy and send them to school unless they are truly sick. Every day of school is an important opportunity for students to learn as well as connect with peers and school staff.
If your family or your child needs support, please reach out to a student services staff member for help. Their names and contact information are always at the bottom of each newsletter. Or you can always call our school office and staff will be ready to connect you with someone who can help.
We thank:
· Our students and their families who do their best to show up to class every day even when it isn’t easy.
· Our staff who have gone above and beyond to help make school a welcoming learning environment where students can thrive.
· Our many, many healers and helpers - the support staff and community volunteers who provide the extra hands and attention our children need.
Please note that per the Family Handbook, "Parents and guardians may excuse their child for up to 10 days per year without a medical excuse".
If you are interested in reviewing the MHASD attendance information, you can access details in our Family Handbook and/or by reviewing our District's Attendance Admin Regulation.
Thank you for partnering with us!
Sincerely,
Rachael Johnson & The ELC/PC Staff

First Grade Music Concert and Art Gallery Walk - Friday, February 14, 2025
Back by popular demand, in conjunction with the 1st grade concert, we will be hosting a 1st grade art gallery walk! There will be a map printed on the back of your concert program that will guide your art gallery tour. After the concert, you may go pick up your child from their classroom and do the gallery walk together. With this event taking place near the end of our school day, we simply ask that you complete your gallery walk no later than 2:50 PM so that we can safely clear the hallways to get our students ready for dismissal.
We will be unlocking the north, south, and west Primary Center gymnasium doors starting at 1:30 PM. Guests will not be permitted into the building before 1:30 PM. We are encouraging families to park on Academy St. and 2nd St. There will only be minimal parking available in the PC lot and down in the ELC lot.
In our gymnasium, we will have bleacher and chair seating. We ask that the chair seating be reserved for visitors with mobility limitations, parents with small children, and as overflow seating once the bleachers are full.
At the end of the concert, teachers will be taking their students back to their classrooms. Parents will be dismissed by class to check in with the classroom teacher and pick up their child and then complete the art gallery walk.
The children are very excited about performing for us, and sharing their artwork! Thank you for being a part of this event. We are looking forward to seeing you!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Vajda, Music Teacher, Ms. Godfrey, Art Teacher & Mrs. Johnson, Principal
