Breakfast Blitz in Support of Kids Eat Smart Breakfast Blitz in Support of Kids Eat Smart

Our school is participating in a Breakfast Blitz to help fill our KES cupboards on Thursday, February 26, 2026. We are asking families to please send along a breakfast item or a donation in support of our school’s Kids Eat Smart Breakfast Club.

If you wish, donations may also be made online at www.kidseatsmart.ca by designating our school to receive your gift. Please note that a $20 donation provides breakfast for a child for one month. Filling our KES cupboards helps ensure our students start each day well-nourished and ready to learn.

Thank you for your continued support.

Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week

Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week is February 9-13. Our Student Council kindly asks our school community to show appreciation for the staff of MDJH by providing treats during the week. This is by no means an expectation of families, but rather a gesture of thanks if you would like to contribute.

As in past years, different grade levels provide sweet or savoury treats on different days:

  • Tuesday, February 10 - Grade 7

  • Wednesday, February 11 - Grade 8

  • Thursday, February 12 - Grade 9

*Examples could be cookies, cakes, cheese/cracker tray, fruit/veggie tray, sandwiches, etc. We have a staff of approx 60 people but any amount is appreciated!

If you are able to send along a treat, please email jodisauve@nlschools.ca

Valentine's Day Events

The Student Council is happy to announce some Valentine’s Day activities for the week of Feb 9-13!

  • Students will guess the number of Valentine candies in a jar by going to the office and making a guess. The closest to the correct number wins the jar of candies on Thursday, Feb 12.
  • We will have a friend bracelet-making station on Monday-Wednesday (Feb 9-11) in room 110B during lunch. Come by and make bracelets if you wish!
  • Student Council members will be setting up a table in the lobby on Monday-Wednesday (Feb 9-11) during lunch to collect Valentine Grams to be sent to friends on Feb 12.
