From the Senior Leadership Team – Term 3, Week 8
Kia ora whanau and welcome to the end of week 8!
We’re getting close to the end of term, and the school has been exceptionally busy over the last few weeks, with our Year 7s presenting their Community Projects and our Year 8 learners finishing off their Exhibition work. Also, the AIMS games are coming to a close today! With multiple teams and individuals having competed, it’s been an amazing week showcasing our learners' dedication and commitment to their sport! The next newsletter will include a Sports Roundup with our results.
A reminder: Senior Constable Fenton came in to talk about safe bike and scooter riding, and this remains a top issue. All bike riders must wear a helmet. If learners are found without a helmet, they will not be able to ride home, and we will notify parents. Staff will be checking learners as they leave the school grounds. We strongly recommend that all scooter users wear a helmet. Additionally, parents must talk to their child about safe riding and riding etiquette. Pedestrians have the right of way on the footpath, and on private property such as Smales Farm, riders may not ride over grass, through car parks, or on footpaths.
The PYP Exhibition will be taking place in Week 10. This is the culmination of all the work our Year 8 learners have been doing and an amazing experience for our community to see the effort and hard work our students put into their studies. We will have two days, with three teams presenting each day.
On Tuesday 22 September, Rātā, Rimu and Mānuka will be hosting the wider community from 1:40 pm - 2:40 pm and then 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
On Wednesday 23 September, Tōtara, Kōwhai and Kauri will be hosting the wider community from 1:40 pm - 2:40 pm and then 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Parking will be limited on the basketball courts during the after-school times; please park off-site if possible. We look forward to seeing you there!
