Welcome to the last week of school! On Monday, we have our regular bell schedules with dismissal at 3pm. However, on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, school is out at 1:15pm each day. There are no scheduled after-school activities.
On Monday, our 8th Graders will be turning in their iPads and chargers. 6th and 7th Graders will keep their iPads over the summer. If you are moving or changing schools, please let the office know and have your student return their device.
Yearbooks are being delivered to Benton on Monday and are available for pick up at Break and Lunch. There are a limited number of yearbooks available for sale for $35 cash or check in the Benton office.
On Wednesday, 8th Graders will practice the Promotion here at Benton followed by lunch and a field day hosted by our PTSA and Parent Volunteers. Thursday is Promotion for 8th Graders. 8th Grade students eligible for Promotion will report directly to the La Mirada HS Gym. Following Promotion, they are done for the day and do not need to return to Benton. Wednesday will have been most 8th Graders' final day at Benton.
If you ordered a Promotion Lei, it is available for pick up in the Benton office on Wednesday from 12noon-1:130pm.
Our office will be closing early on Wednesday at 2pm for our all-staff meeting off campus.

Last weekend, Mr. Dan and several students attended the awards ceremony at the Mark Taper Auditorium in the historical Central LA Library for the 60th Annual California Student Media Festival. Teams of students produced videos for submission and won! Congratulations to

Have you completed the online registration for next year? This is separate from selecting classes and electives. All NLM students must complete the online registration each year. 6th Graders, do you have the TDAP vaccination? You must have that before starting 7th Grade. Parents can submit proof of vaccination to the Benton Office Manager, Terié at twohlford@nlmusd.org
Families, we are asking for your input as to how we are doing. Please complete the survey at this link, you will need your student's 6-digit ID number to complete the survey.
Make it a great last week of school!
Benton End of Year Awards Ceremony
Last Wednesday Benton recognized students for their achievements at our Awards Ceremony. Congratulations to all the students on their accomplishments!
Spotlight on Learning: Adv. Media Arts
In Advanced Media Arts students designed and assembled their own Tech Decks, mini skateboards. Students began by exploring the history of skateboarding and the renowned skateboard designer, Jim Phillips. A California graphic artist, Phillips is celebrated for establishing the distinctive aesthetic of Santa Cruz skateboards and for creating the legendary “Screaming Hand” graphic in 1985. Students analyzed traditional skateboard styles and were tasked with developing their own design interpretations of well-known graphics or designing their own unique illustrations using Adobe Illustrator.
Spotlight on Learning: Korean
The Korean 1A class built and decorated traditional Korean kites, then flew them outside. The weather was perfect for kite flying!
Limited number of Yearbooks on Sale
You can now purchase the 25-26 Benton Yearbook in the school office (cash or check payable to ASB). If you already purchased a yearbook, they will be distributed on Monday at break/lunch in the quad.
