Prom Boutique Dress Donations Needed
Cedar Cliff is now accepting donations of formal gowns for our annual Prom Boutique. If you have a formal dress tucked away that you’re ready to part with, we would love to give it a second chance to shine.
While prom is a special and memorable night, it can also be expensive for some students. Your donation helps ensure that all students have the opportunity to enjoy this milestone event.
Donations may be dropped off at the Cedar Cliff front office. If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer Crager in the Counseling Office.
Thank you for helping make prom magical for everyone!
Unified Bocce & Friends Forever are Taking the Polar Plunge
On February 27, our Unified Bocce and Friends Forever students will be participating in the Polar Plunge to support Special Olympics. Their goal is to raise $2,000, and every donation helps make a difference.
Please consider donating to help our students reach their goal and support this amazing cause!
School in Session February 16
Calendar Update: Due to the snow day on January 26, school will now be in session on Monday, February 16.
Outdoor Adventure Education Winter Gear Drive
Our Outdoor Adventure Education (OAE) classes are excited to use cross-country skis and snowshoes this winter as part of the physical education curriculum. These activities give students meaningful opportunities to stay active, explore the outdoors, and develop lifelong skills.
Unfortunately, some students do not have the winter clothing needed to participate safely and comfortably in cold, snowy conditions. If you are able to donate gently worn winter items—such as boots, gloves, snow pants, coats, gaiters, or similar gear—you can make a meaningful difference.
Donations may be dropped off at the Cedar Cliff front office during school hours and labeled for the OAE teacher, Ms. Ede.
Thank you for your generosity and for helping ensure all students can fully enjoy and benefit from these outdoor learning experiences.
CC SPOTLIGHT
Cedar Cliff FBLA Shines at Regional Leadership Conference
Cedar Cliff High School FBLA students attended the Regional Leadership Conference (RLC) at Shippensburg University and represented our school with professionalism, strong leadership, and impressive competitive performances.
As a result of their hard work and dedication, 21 students qualified to advance to the FBLA State Leadership Conference in Hershey this April. This is a tremendous accomplishment and a true reflection of their preparation and commitment.
Congratulations to our FBLA students on this outstanding achievement!
Construction Tech Completes New Cedar Cliff School Store
The Construction Tech classes have completed the build of the new Cedar Cliff School Store. After moving materials on site, students worked together to assemble the walls, construct a covered shingled roof, install doors and a sales counter, and complete exterior trim work.
This project gave the 25 Construction Tech students the opportunity to take part in a real-world build that will serve the Colts community for years to come.
We are incredibly proud of their hard work and accomplishment!
Cedar Cliff Competes in Winter 30-20-10 National Online Academic Competition
On December 17, 2025, Cedar Cliff students, under the direction of Mrs. Angela Kamps, Gifted Support Teacher, participated in the winter computerized 30-20-10 National Academic Competition. Twenty-three students in grades 9–12 worked collaboratively, communicating in real time to answer 240 challenging questions covering topics such as geography, science, math, and literature.
The team performed exceptionally well under the leadership of team captain Jenna Sadowski (12th grade) and assistant captain Trevor Rhodes (11th grade). Cedar Cliff earned a score of 1140 out of 2400, ranking 15th out of 134 schools in Pennsylvania and 161st out of 355 schools nationwide.
Congratulations to all students involved on an outstanding academic achievement—well done!
Outdoor Adventure Education Enjoys Winter Weather
The Outdoor Adventure Education class took advantage of the winter weather this past week as students had the opportunity to try snowshoeing. It was a great way for students to get outside, stay active, and enjoy hands-on learning in winter conditions.
If the snow sticks around, cross-country skiing may be next!
Course Selection Night Takes on a New Format
This year, the Guidance Department reimagined Course Selection Night by hosting it in a college-fair format. Each department hosted a table with teacher representatives who took time to explain course offerings and answer questions for parents and students.
In addition, breakout sessions were offered for advanced coursework—including Advanced Placement (AP) and College in the Classroom—as well as career exploration opportunities such as co-op and internships.
This new format provided parents and students with a more personalized and interactive approach to selecting future courses.
All the Right Words: Speech and Debate Students Qualify for States
We are pleased to congratulate John Hartman, Rihanna Mercado, Lilly Tommaselli, and Andrei Javier of the Cedar Cliff Speech and Debate Team on their outstanding performance at the 2026 District Speech and Debate Tournament held at Messiah University on January 24th.
As a result of their successful performances, all four students have qualified to represent our school at the 2026 PA State Speech and Debate Tournament in March held at Bloomsburg University. This is a significant achievement, and we are proud of the way our students continue to represent our school and community.
As the students prepare for the state competition, we wish them the very best and look forward to cheering them on as they take this next exciting step.
Student Innovation Improves Laser Engraver Functionality
Mr. Uibel and a senior student in his Technology Education class developed a truly unique, custom solution that has been a game changer for the Aquaponics program. The team designed and built a specialized adapter for the exhaust port of our laser engraver, which is used for marketing projects and student-designed initiatives.
Because the laser engraver is housed in a space not originally designed for this equipment, the exhaust tubing previously exited the machine in a precarious way. Recognizing the same issue in their own lab, Mr. Uibel and his students chose not to create a temporary fix. Instead, they designed, prototyped, tested, redesigned, and ultimately produced a custom adapter using a 3D printer.
This project showcased the full engineering design process—problem identification, solution design, prototyping, experimentation, refinement, and real-world application. Even more powerful was the collaboration: one class of students helping another class solve a shared challenge.
This is authentic, hands-on learning at its best.
Cell Division Made Fun
In Biology class, students explored the process of cell division using cookies as a hands-on learning model. Each part of the cookie represented a component of a dividing cell: the cookie served as the cell, the icing represented the cytoplasm, and toothpicks were used to create lines symbolizing spindle fibers. Students also used sprinkles to model the movement of chromosomes during cell division, making this interactive activity both fun and educational.
New Cumberland VFW Voice of Democracy Audio Essay First-Place Winner!
Congratulations to Cedar Cliff sophomore Rebekah Stevenson! Rebekah earned first place in the New Cumberland VFW Voice of Democracy Audio Essay competition.
