Cherrydale Primary School
Cheetah Newsletter April 22, 2026
From the Principal
Happy Earth Day Cherrydale Families!
Today we celebrated Earth Day at Cherrydale with our annual Cheetah Walk, an all-school event that brings our community together while supporting a great cause. Through this event, we raise funds for the Cheetah Conservation Fund, and we’re especially proud to sponsor our very own cheetah, Rocket! It was wonderful to see our students enjoying the day, showing school spirit, and learning about how they can make a difference.
Earth Day is also a great opportunity to continue the learning and celebration at home. Here are a few simple ways families can participate:
- Spend time outdoors—go for a walk, visit a park, or explore nature together
- Talk about ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle at home
- Pick up litter in your neighborhood or community
- Turn off lights and electronics when not in use
- Plant flowers, vegetables, or even a small garden
Thank you for helping us inspire our students to care for our planet—not just today, but every day!
Warm Regards,
Christine Firth, Principal

From the Office
Intent to Return Survey
Each spring we ask parents to complete an Intent to Return Survey to let us know your family’s intentions for the next school year. By completing this survey, you are helping us plan for future staffing, supplies, class rosters, and curriculum.
Please complete the survey for each child at this school as soon as you are able.
Thank you!
Help Keep Plastic Film out of Landfills
From now through May 1, students can drop off plastic film for recycling in the designated box located in the office.
All the plastic film we collect during the drive will be turned into Trex decking!
Plastic film must be clean and dry.
If you and your child are interested in learning more, this info sheet explains what plastic film is and why it’s hard to recycle, and this video shows a ton of examples.
