Student of the Month
Grant Award Winners
We are proud to celebrate two of our outstanding educators for their innovation and commitment to student learning! Mrs. Thurik and Mr. Rogers were both awarded $2,000 grants through the Channelview ISD Education Foundation to bring exciting new opportunities to our campus.
Mrs. Thurik’s Literary Craft Studio will empower students to become authors of their own learning. In a six-week unit leading up to the STAAR test, students will step away from technology to design and create their own books—complete with original pages, layouts, and evidence of mastery of essential TEKS. This hands-on approach encourages students to synthesize their learning in meaningful and creative ways.
Mr. Rogers’ 3D Printing and Design Lab, developed in collaboration with Mrs. Perez, will introduce students to a dynamic makerspace experience. With the addition of two 3D printers and supplies, students will have the opportunity to design and create characters and settings connected to the texts they are studying, blending creativity with real-world skills.
We are excited to see how these innovative projects will inspire our students and provide unique, engaging ways to showcase their learning in the year ahead!
Thank you to the CISD Education Foundation for their support of our stakeholders.
If you are graduating on May 15, 2026 from Endeavor High School and you would like a graduation announcement to print out yourself, Mrs. Thurik has created a PNG image for you to download. Simply download the image from the website or from this newsletter and you can print it yourself on blank invitation cardstock or send it to a local Walgreens or CVS photo shop.

Graduation Ceremony Photo Information
Curtis Stanley Photography has been our graduation photographer for many years. On the "Graduation Information" page of our campus website, many parents received an error message regarding the photo package information. We reached out to Mr. Stanley and he corrected the error. Mrs. Thurik has since provided the correct link on the website and has also done so here.
If you would like to look at the packages Mr. Stanley has for our graduation ceremony, you can click the photo and go to the site. Please consider pre-ordering your package so that you save time on the day of graduation. Rain Garden for Endeavor
For the past week, students at Endeavor have been hard at work building a rain garden!
Recently, Endeavor High School was awarded a grant through the Children’s Environmental Literacy Foundation to support a rain garden project on campus. This week, the garden location was selected, the area was cleared, and soil has already been delivered. Next week, we plan to fill the garden with bioretention soil, which will support both water drainage and plant growth.
Rain gardens are important and beautiful spaces that help store and filter rainwater. They are designed as bowl-shaped areas and collect runoff from nearby sidewalks and grassy areas. The plants chosen for rain gardens have deep root systems that are great at absorbing water and filtering out pollutants before the water returns to local streams and bayous. This means the garden will not only be an enjoyable space for students and staff at Endeavor, but it will also have a positive impact on the surrounding community and environment.
Waiting for the soil!
Students are clearing the hole.
