TALON TALK
π¬ Principal's Message
Hello, Reynolds Families!
We've had such a fun week as we wrap up our first spirit week of the 2025-26 school year for Hope Squad's Suicide Prevention and Awareness week. It was amazing to see so many students participating by dressing up each day and enjoying the special lunch activities that our Hope Squad planned. The energy and participation from our students was fantastic.
Student Check-Out Reminder
Just a reminder that parents, guardians, and/or approved emergency contacts must bring a physical driver's license to check a student out of school. We cannot accept a picture on a phone and cannot release students without the physical ID. This is a district safety and security protocol where exceptions cannot be made.
Understanding Our MINGA System
You may have heard your child mention Minga of you may have been receiving several notifications from our Minga System, so we thought it would be helpful to explain some of the key features we're using to support your students:
- Minga Praise - Teachers can recognize your child for positive behaviors and achievements throughout the day. This gives students immediate positive feedback and helps reinforce the behaviors we want to see at school.
- Behavior Management - We use this feature to address minor behavioral concerns. It tracks behavioral data, which helps us identify patterns and work together to provide the right support for your child. It also improves communication between school and home.
- Minga Points - When your child is assigned a praise, they can earn points for positive behaviors, good choices, and achievements. This creates a fun, school-wide way to motivate students and celebrate their successes!
- Tutoring Passes - This feature helps us track when students receive extra academic support. It ensures we're organized in providing additional help and keeps good records of the interventions your child receives. Students will need to have a Minga Tutorials Pass to go to morning tutorials! Afternoon tutorials are going to be as needed and do not require a tutoring pass.
These tools help us create a positive, safe, and supportive environment while giving us better ways to track your child's progress, growth, and needs.
Eagle Watch Volunteer Meeting
If you're interested in getting more involved at Reynolds, we have an Eagle Watch parent volunteer meeting on September 17th from 6-7 PM in the Reynolds Library. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about ways you can spend time on our campus, support our school activities, and help take care of our students!
Athletic Events - Food and Drink Policy
Just a friendly reminder that outside food and drinks aren't allowed at Prosper ISD athletic events. I know we've had some challenges with the concession stands at our recent football games, and have made some exceptions. Moving forward, we'll be following district guidelines and asking everyone to stick to the No Outside Food or Drink Policy at all our sporting events.
Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. On Tuesday, September 16th, we're hosting a Gold Out day - please wear gold to show support for families affected by childhood cancer.
Thank you for partnering with us to support your children's success.
It's a great day to be an Eagle!
