Final Exams at Peachtree Ridge
Because we are on the block system, Peachtree Ridge has final exams four times a year: October 7 & 8, December 18 & 19, March 6 & 9, and May 19 & 20. Final exams are half days due to the importance of the assessments and to provide students with ample studying time. Students will arrive at school during regular hours, but they will leave at 11:25. The busses will take them home at this time. Also, we do not serve lunch on these days. Final Exams cannot be given early. Please remind your students that they need to bring their Chromebook fully charged for final exams.

2nd Block Exams: 9:25 - 11:25
Wednesday 10/8

What should I do if my child is struggling in a class?
Gwinnett County Public Schools utilizes several tools to ensure that student performance is communicated effectively to families. ParentVue is one tool that allows parents to view students' grades and attendance. If your child is struggling in a class, please view with your child their teachers’ Google Classroom to view supplemental materials and tutoring schedule. Additionally, please email or use ParentSquare to communicate with your child’s teacher. Early communication and support are critical for student success.
General Announcements
New: Reporting Student Absences
Student absences should now be reported through ParentVUE (app or website). Use this link to learn how to report absences. Written notes and doctor's notes can also be physically turned in to the attendance desk in the front lobby. Please make sure to include your student's full name and student ID number on all notes.
(Absence notes through ParentVUE cannot be submitted the same day as the absence. Notes can be submitted the following day.)
If you are checking a student out:
Send an email to PRHS.Checkout@gcpsk12.org stating when and for what purpose they need to leave. Please send the email at least one hour before the time your student needs to check out. Notes must include the student's full name, ID number, and phone number and must be sent from the parent email we have on file.
Attendance
Regular attendance in classes is directly linked to a student's success in the course. You can monitor your child's attendance through ParentVue. When a child has an excused absence, they should bring an excuse note to the front desk on the day they return that includes their student ID number. A list of reasons that an absence can be excused along with our school attendance policy can be found on our website. https://schools.gcpsk12.org/domain/4247. Please partner with us to ensure that your child is present and on time to each class everyday.
Help inform the Superintendent search
Community Survey: The GCPS Superintendent search community survey is now live. This survey, available in six languages, is open to all GCPS students, families, employees, and community members and will help inform the Board’s selection of the district’s next leader.
Community Gatherings: Each Board member is hosting a gathering in their district to hear directly from families and community members. The District III meeting is Tuesday, September 16, 6–8 p.m. at North Gwinnett High School. See this flyer for more information and how to register.
Immunizations
All students in 11th grade can bring their updated immunization records that include the Meningitis Booster to the Counseling office. Please make sure the student writes their student ID on the 3231 form. More information can be found on the Georgia Department of Public Health website.
