zoom_out_map

On July 16th, the Parkview community lost a beloved member, Drew Rouk, to cancer. Drew was a dedicated percussionist in the Parkview marching band and indoor percussion group.

On Friday August 29, we invite you to Parkview’s 1st Football Gold Out for September’s Childhood Cancer Awareness Month where we will ELEVATE awareness of pediatric cancer. The Parkview football team, cheer squad, and marching band will be honoring Drew and the Rouk family by collecting donations to help fund research and pediatric clinical trials. Drew's parents will speak during the Pre-Game show about their experience and how donations like this helped their family.

Please join us, WEARING YOUR GOLD, starting at 6:30pm for the pregame performance and speech. Football kickoff is at 7:00pm!

If you are unable to attend the game, you can still make a donation towards pediatric cancer research and clinical trials by using the following link.

Attendance Matters Attendance Matters

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! We’re thrilled to have our students back in the building and look forward to a successful year ahead. To support their academic growth, we encourage students to remain in school for the full day as often as possible because attendance matters.

Students are expected to be present and in class on time every day. Please take a moment to review our attendance procedures to stay informed.

As of August 14, 2025, we’ve recorded 859 check-ins and 192 check-outs after just eight days of school. While we understand that check-outs are sometimes necessary, we kindly ask parents to ensure students stay through the full school day unless an emergency necessitates their absence. This helps students gain the most from their classes and school experiences.

To verify your child’s attendance records, please check ParentSquare regularly. Thank you for partnering with us to make school attendance a priority!

Reminders:

  • All students must check in at the main lobby vestibule, not at tardy stations.

  • Late arrivals must check in to avoid being marked AWOL for missed periods.

  • Parents/Guardians are not required to check their child into school, but documentation is required for the check-in to be excused.

  • Parent excuses apply to absences, not tardies.

  • All notes must be uploaded to ParentVUE within 5 days of the absence, or it will remain unexcused. See directions here.

For details on what qualifies as an excused absence, please visit Gwinnett County's Attendance Policy

Student Check-Out Location

Parents and Guardians will now be using our vestibule to complete the checkout process. Please be patient with us during this transition period.

Remember that you can send a note with students in the morning to the Attendance Office, with the students name, ID # and time they are checking out. Our Attendance Office will then contact you to confirm the checkout time and the student will be able to be released from class at that time. They can then sign themselves out. You will not have to enter the building.

New Absence/Tardy Note Procedure

If your student has been absent, you no longer will turn in a note to the attendance office. All notes must be uploaded in ParentVUE within 5 days of the absence or it will remain unexcused. Please don't upload notes for tardies. We will only process notes for late check-ins or absences, not for students who receive a tardy between class changes.
